HI BEES!

So I fell in love this beautiful gown last week – but just like everything else in life, it’s not perfect. While I LOVE the ivory color, vintage feel, lace, and rhinestone accents, I am NOT a fan of one thing: the drop waist! Is raising the waist impossible? Have you ever heard of a tailor raising a ‘dropped waist?’ Am I crazy for wanting it raised?
EDIT: Here’s the back (in case you’re curious): http://i.imgur.com/WQ9QrX8.jpg?1

A tailor should be able to raise it the same number of inches you would have hemmed it.

Simone Bee: It can be done, but obviously you need to have the extra fabric available at the hem. If you are short, you may be able to do it with a standard length dress. The seamstress will remove the appliques, rasie the wasitline, then replace the appliques.
If you are not short and haven’t purchased the dress yet, and it is possible to order it in a longer length, that would give the the extra fabric.

cateyes: Now that you say that, I’m glad the dress is a little long on me. I’ll have to take it to a tailor to figure out just how much.
