So… as a follow up to a post I made about a week or so ago (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/need-suggestions-bridesmaids-dress-a-tad-tight-wedding-in-2-weeks#axzz2UDF8NnXT), I am carefully watching what I eat in order to fit into my MOH dress for I wedding I am in next Saturday. I am in the home stretch now and have lost a whopping 3 pounds lol. I am hoping not to derail over the long weekend and stay strong through all the booze and BBQ’s!
So, if anyone wants to post some of their favorite inspirational pictures, quotes or techniques they use—I will be forever grateful!
It has already been hard this morning in the office saying no to french toast and bacon!

IDK why this posted in dress, can a Mod move to fitness?….

Girl, get you some Jillian Michaels. Google “Ripped in 30” and I think Daily Motion has the video for the first week. It kicked my butt the first (and only, so far) day that I’ve done it.
Quotes and pictures and stuff doesn’t motivate me, so I have nothing.

@Mrs_Amanda: Ha! I love that picture.
No good motivational pictures, just words of confidence! You can do it! My only suggestion would be to pick a day this weekend to indulge a little…not so much that you feel gross, but just enough so that you aren’t depriving yourself. It really can help keep you on track the rest of the time if you know you get to have a treat in there too. And yes, do a hard core workout! Anything high intensity interval training will burn lots of calories in a short amount of time. I like efficiency in my workouts, : ).
Good luck- you got this!

@vorpalette: I have heard that name mentioned a lot. What kind of workouts is it? Not dance, I hope.

@MrsPanda99: Nope, she does combo workouts. Weights, cardio, things like that. So she has you do lunges with bicep curls because you’re working your upper and lower body at the same time, which burns more calories and packs more workout into a shorter amount of time.
So Ripped in 30 goes on the 3-2-1 method: 3 minutes of strength, 2 minutes of cardio, 1 minute of abs (same as 30 Day Shred)
Week one runs like this:
Squat with Press
Crescent Pose with tricep kickbacks
Deadlift with upright row
Squat with punches
Side Plank Lifts (30 sec.each side)
Chair pose with reverse fly
Side lunges with front raise
Lunges with bicep curls
Single leg hops
Takes about 30 minutes, approximately. I work full time, so I don’t have much time to work out during the day. I really like the 3-2-1 system she does because I get way too bored working out for much longer than ~30 minutes.

@vorpalette: Wow, thank you for that. 30 minutes is an ideal time for me to work out too because I am exhausted when I am done working and life just has a way of getting in the way. However, 30 minutes hasn’t been enough to really have an impact for me. This sounds like it would be tough though! I am absolutely going to try this out! And I’m actually excited! Lol.
You mentioned you just started, but do you know anyone who has had success with it?

@vorpalette: Oooh yes! Is this the 30 Day Shred you’re talking about or is this different? Cause I’ve done the Shred and let me tell you, that shit WORKS – I lost about 9 pounds in a month doing that and cleaning up my diet.
Rock on OP! 3 pounds down, you can do it!!

@vorpalette: I love JM… time to bust out some of her DVD’s I have packed away. I’m like you, after 25-30 minutes I am about maxed out. I have been doing yoga here and there, but that has been more for just improving flexibility and core strength than for losing any weight.
@Audrey2_sings: thank you! I made a key lime pie cake for a cookout tomorrow and I made sure to save myself a little bite for a job well done lol.

@vorpalette: Oh just read your last post, same as 30 day Shred. 🙂
Yes OP – it totally works! It WILL kick your butt, but the fact that it’s literally like only 26 minutes makes it seem doable. You will be terrifically sore for at least the first few days but it is oh so worth it.

I also must recommend Jillian Michaels DVD’s, also do at least 30 minutes of cardio per day, and diet, diet, diet if you are actually trying to lose weight in a very short period of time to fit into a specific dress. Booze and BBQ (and all the carbs that go along with them) are yummy but alcohol, salt, and simple sugars make you retain water like crazy. Try to load up on raw veggies, cottage cheese, egg whites, and water/sparkling water before you go to any parties, so you won’t be tempted to eat/drink too much.
Jillian is NOT dance, she’s straight to business cardio/strength and is quite motivational. I like that she tends to give an easy, regular, and hard version of each exercise and is very specific about proper form. There is nothing worse to me than floundering around (and not burning enough calories!) trying to do a silly dance move, or pulling a muscle from doing an exercise incorrectly. Jillian says motivational-ish things during her workouts that I always think back to even when I’m working out without a DVD:
-“Don’t phone it in!”
-“This one [exercise]… It’s mean… But it’s for your own good!”
-“My very favorite overall exercise: a pushup” (do pushups!! They work your whole body)
-“My very favorite ab move: bicycle crunches”
-“Think about the muscles you are trying to work, imagine them getting leaner, the body getting fitter…”
-“Think about jeans shopping–or bathing suit shopping”

@Mrs_Amanda: A tip to quickly lose a bunch of weight (and then maybe you can have a LITTLE indulgence here and there)- just eat protein and veggies! (then you can have that burger this weekend-just without the bun!) You can do it!!!

@MrsPanda99: You can Google reviews–so many people have great results, especially if you follow the meal plan she has on her website. I’ve done other JM workouts (30 Day Shred, No More Trouble Zones, Killer Abs, Killer Buns & Thighs) and they do work if you follow them. My bff/MOH has lost 130lbs and counting just from doing workouts, especially JM ones.
@Mrs_Amanda: My bff works out for at least an hour every day and I don’t know how she can stand it. I don’t get a “high” from working out, I just get tired and bored.

@vorpalette: 130 pounds?! Wow. I think the meal plan would be important. I wouldn’t want to do all of that work for nothing, and they say it is mostly what you eat (which sucks! It’s summer, I want BBQs). I agree with you – working out is tedious to me, I hate it, it’s boring, I’m tired, I’m sweaty, and it’s not fun at all. Some people love it, and my theory is that they are insane 😉

@Pomapoo: I’m seriously getting her DVDs ASAP. Are you saying you recommend doing 30 minutes of cardio in addition to her DVDs? I will do it if I must, but I won’t enjoy it 😛
