I feel rose gold is more trendy than the classic yellow gold. But I am probably biased because my e ring is yellow gold. They both are gorgeous and I don’t think  you can choose one that will look bad.

@JustLove25:  Rose gold, because it sounds like you like it more. And yellow gold really isn’t uncommon at all. Everyone I know who got engaged around the time my parents did has yellow gold.

14k rose gold is pretty pink. Lovely, but you should try it on. I have some 14k rose gold bands and they are a more coppery pink colour. 18k is more of a peachy-yellow. I prefer the 18k as it is more subtle.

Rose gold has been around a long time, but it does seem more popular right now. I see it a lot now alone or in two-tone settings.

Yellow also has been around a long, long time (obviously, given gold IS yellow!) and goes through spurts. It was popular a couple decades ago, took a backseat in last 10-20 years as white metals took over, and seems to be regaining a bit of popularity again.

I love yellow gold, it is so classic and really flatters my pasty pale but warm-toned skin. Rose gold also looks nice on me, but is not quite as “classic” for me or as nice on my own skin as yellow. I also think I would get “tired” of rose or pink gold after a while (just me personally, I know others would love it forever, much like how I feel about yellow!).

You should really go with what YOU love. You said you do not want to go with something just as it is in or out of style, but it sounds like you are avoiding white as it is “in” and not sure of either yellow or rose. i think it is very important to pick something you enjoy and that flatters you best, and that way it will never be “out of style” for you. I would go try different metals on to see what works best for you and is most appealing to you.

Personally, I always wore yellow metals (some rose) until I tried white with my wedding rings. Turns out there is a reason I always had yellow – even aside from some allergy issues, yellow always looked so good on me! White washed out my pale skin even more and did nothing for my warm undertones. I went back to yellow. Even my husband has said several times how much better the yellow looks on me – livens my skin up. A cool toned person, on the other hand, will look so much better in white metals…so maybe there is a reason you always wear white? If white looks best on you, perhaps it is best to go white and maybe choose some rose (or yellow) gold accents or stacking bands?

I prefer white gold, but if you’re going for something unique, I think that rose gold will be much classier and prettier, and not clash as much with silver colored jewelry.

Go on pintrest and most of the engagement rings you’ll see are rose or white gold.  I’m a yellow gold gal; however, I think gold colors are an acquired taste and you should go with whatever suits you best. Have you considered just ordering the stone and finding a setting locally?

I love rose gold and I think that would fit well with your heart shaped diamond!

I think the rose gold would be unique and beautiful. I really want some rose gold jewelry.
