Bees, I need your help!! My whole life I’ve had nice clear skin. Rarely did I ever break out, and when I did it was small and went away fast. Now it seems the wedding stress is causing me to have some major acne and it won’t go away!! I don’t know what to do. I’ve been washing my face daily but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I also bought a mask cream and have been using that. But my face just keeps getting worse! I look like the “before” picture on a face wash commercial. Does anyone have any good tips for getting rid of stress acne?

have you been to the dermatologist? I was in your shoes a few months ago…i had the worst, ugliest most painful pimples…something i had never dealt with before. turns out i had cystic pimples. I’d never heard of them before but they’re super deep and i would have to go in for these shot things to clear it up. SOrry probably TMI, but it wasn’t fun. The dermatologist gave me some medicine…it took about 6 weeks to fully kick in…but my face is back to the pre-nightmare face i had for a while. 🙂

@MistySoda: This may be unrelated, but I want to bring it up just incase. Do you use makeup? If so, make sure your makeup brushes are washed at least once a week. I went a little too long this past month without washing them, and I was breaking out all over my face. and normally, my skin never breaks out.

Can you make an emergency dermatologist appointment? I’d say it’s worth it for this occasion.
I’m reluctant to give you advice because I don’t know your skin, and different things work for different people.
Most over-the-counter routines take a few weeks to see results, and can make things worse.
Don’t over-wash, and make sure anything you put on your skin is “non-comedogenic” (won’t clog pores). Are you using new products? I wouldn’t.
You could try getting a cleanser and moisturizer for acne-prone skin, but it may just make things worse.
Also.. try to relax. Exercise to reduce those stress hormones.

@canarydiamond: I haven’t been to a dermatologist but I’m guessing that’s my best bet at this point. I’ve been trying to find time to go to the chiropactor since I have horrible back pain and I’d like to not have to deal with it for the wedding and honeymoon. Maybe I just need to take a few days off work for doctor appointments.
@mrspinesol: I almost never wear make up, but I did go for a trial a few days before this started. It’s ironic if the make up caused this because I had pretty much decided not to wear make up for our wedding but if this doesn’t go away I’ll have to!
