Hey Bees! I need some hive opinions on finalising my bridal look. My dress is the Esme by Jenny Packham… I’m so in love with it but I’m nervous about any accessories putting the look over the top. I plan on wearing a simple cathedral length drop veil for the ceremony, hair in a low bun or chignon. I’m really in love with the Downton Abbey Lady Mary wedding look… would a headpiece like the one below will just be too much with my dress? I’m thinking it will either serve to balance out all the bling of the dress, or it would just be overpowering and too much, I can’t decide!

I think you should go for it! It’s your day to go all-out. Worst case, if you hate it the day-of just make sure you can return the headpiece.

I love it, but it looks almost exactly like mine so I’m biased :-)! Rock it!!!

Gorgeous dress. Gorgeous headpiece. Definitely NOT over the top.
The only other factor you you may want to consider is whether a headpiece that is more symmetrically designed would compliment your symmetrically ornamented dress more. However, you definitely can wear this one, and it will look beautiful.

LVoeBride: It’s pretty, subtle, goes with your dress, I vote go for it!

Thanks ladies! I think I just needed some assurance that I wouldn’t end up looking like a gaudy sparkle monster.
MrsTywinLannister: Which headpiece did you order? This was the only one I was able to find for a reasonable price. The dress was a splurge so I’m trying to keep the rest in check, but I’m really swooning for the Enchanted Atelier & BHLDN versions.

LVoeBride: I found a custom made one on etsy, I paid about $400 for it (gaah, I’m trying not to think about that haha).
