Hey bees! Help a girl out.
I am having an Orthodox Jewish wedding, which means I want sleeves and a high neckline on my dress. I bought this sample dress for a song on Etsy because it had many of the elements I was looking for – I love the ruching, the big full skirt, and the wide sash/corset style of the bodice. It’s made of a beautiful ivory silk shantung (much more ivory than it appears in these pics). The only thing I am on the fence about is the frills. At first I was adamant that they had to go (reminded me of piping on a cake), but now I’m second guessing myself. My future SIL likes them and she generally has fabulous taste in clothes.
It is a tiered (or “gypsy”) style skirt, so even if I took the frills off, there would be a seam between the sections. So what do you think? Frills on? Frills totally off? Frills off but replace with some other kind of trim?
(This is NOT ME in the picture).
