I need a bit of an outside opinion as me and hubby2be are finding to hard to decide on a cake design we both like.
Here are some of the pics we have for inpiration. I like some, FI likes others.
I have also added a drawing (not a very good one) of a cake I designed which incorporates a bit of everything.
My cake is being made by my lovely friend who wanted me to give her a design idea by next week! EEK
Our wedding is based aroud an English country garden.
CAKE 5 (own design):
CAKE 6 (late entry)

I love the flowers on cake 3! Would your design own use the same flowers? If so, I think you should go with your design, because I could see it working really well with your venue.

@bleusteel: It’s hard to say if the flowers on the re design by my cake maker would be exactly the same. These flowers are edible but so realistic I think they would be hard to recreate. We may have to go for real flowers or a more simple design, or even source the edible flowers from a specialist cake maker!

Let’s put it this way… I like the burlap so much that it’s going on my cake inspiration board. Plus, seeing as I’m making my own cake, I look at the burlap one and think yeah… I could nail that.

I love the mushrooms and ferns, so gardeny and whimsical without being your standard flowers on a cake so I vote #4!

I love cake #2, I think it’s perfect for an English country garden wedding! The others stirke me as maybe a bit modern for that theme/setting.

@EnglishWifey: Those are edible flowers?! WOW! Yeah those would definitely be harder to recreate. I think real flowers would be lovely if you went with that design or your own design.

I love 3 and 4!
Which means that I also love 5, becuase it’s a lovely mix of the two! 🙂

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I’m so stuck as I love all of them!
I have added a 6th option! I love pansies and you ca buy edible sugar ones that look VERY realistic and you can actually eat the real flower too.

@EnglishWifey: Yes, if I have time then I’m doing edible flower salads as well… if I remember when I do the buffet, that is…

I LOVE number 4. When I worked in a cake shop we made that cake and it looked SO amazing, it is still one of my fravorites to this day =D but the third is a reallly close runner up

I’m tripping over the mushrooms a bit…I generally try to stay away from food that’s growing mold.

OMFG that mushroom cake is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life! I love it!
I also love cake 3,4 and 5. Why are people voting the most boring burlap? (Not that anything is wrong with it, but the others are so cute and creative and charming.)

English Country Garden… says Cake # 6 to me
It looks so clean, elegant and pretty (things, I seriously believe that a Wedding Cake should be). And the pansies so perfect cause the go so well with just about any colour scheme.
Hope this helps,

I voted for the burlap one but I love cake #6, too.
I really dislike the mushroom one. They remind me of little penises.
