I just bought Darling Husband a stand-in ring, and it made me want a new stand in (my old one was a cheapy from Shoppers Drug Mart is and going black/cloudy). I’m also planning our Christmas vacation to Puerto Rico so that’s making me think that I should have one for that too!
I want to buy a set so I have the option of wearing both, but I may only wear the wedding band on vacation so that I am less likely to get mugged (does that happen with big rings?)
Here is a picture of a set that is very similar to my current set (I don’t have an actual pic on this computer)
Here are the two sets that I have found and like so far:
Set #1: http://www.berricle.com/cushion-cubic-zirconia-cz-sterling-silver-2-pc-bridal-ring-set-2-04-ct-jewelry-r542-cl.htm
Set #2: http://www.berricle.com/cubic-zirconia-sterling-silver-2-pc-solitaire-bridal-ring-set-2-04-ct-jewelry-r838-cl.htm
Both rings are about $80 and have center stones that are 2ct CZ.

I think if you’re worried about being robbed while traveling I would just get a plain band. Why draw attention with a CZ? Otherwise if that isn’t the case and you just like options then I think a glam eternity band is a great choice. For some reason I just find stand in wedding sets a bit odd.

theshannondee: +1. I don’t personally get the stand in rings that are super blingy or have large stones. The times when I would want a stand in would be when I am travelling and don’t want to attract attention. If someone is going to mug me because they notice I have a (supposedly) expensive ring on, they are also going to try and get everything else I have on my person – cash, credit cards, etc, etc. So I would not be losing just a fake wedding set. I bought a stainless steel band for $10 for that purpose, as I have a 3/4 eternity wedding band. While it’s not flashy at all, and I have it insured, I wouldn’t want to lose it for sentimental reasons.
