- Wedding: August 2013
There are three themes that my Fiance and I really love.
I absolutely adore flowers. I love the rustic feel of woodsy forest enchanted type wedding. Fiance and I like to do things outdoors and go hiking, horseback riding, etc. so it fits us.
I like this theme so much because I love flowers, and we like the great outdoors. I would have moss, wood, lots of flowers, trees, burlap, etc. To pull off a rustic forest type of theme. Selfishly I want this theme because I love all the decorations and every wedding I see with this theme I want to drool, but the other two are much more personal I feel.
2. Bicycle built for two
Fiance and I started bicycle riding together. Now its winter and we aren’t able to like we would like to, but we love it and when the weather is nice (and his back isn’t herniate) we love to bike ride together.
The bicycle built for two. I’m not completely sure how I would do it. I would create a monogram with a bicycle, use a vintage bicycle with basket for our cards, have a bicycle by the seating arrangement with a plaque telling people to find their seat, and would use bicycle wheel frames (without the tires of them) as signs. I would probably incorporate bike bells somehow. With this theme I would probably also add a little americana, because what’s a bicycle ride without a picnic (and our wedding is labor day weekend).
3. Long distance love
Fiance and I have been in a long distance relationship from the day we met. We met online. We live 8 hours apart. He lives near Chicago and I live in the Branson, MO area. We get to see each other and have spent a lot of time together, but in the process our communication and celebrations have come from mail, plane/car/train trips, and nightly phone calls lasting into the wee hours of the morning. This one is the most personal to us, and could really tell our story but by the time our wedding comes along we will have closed and distance and will finally be living in the same city.
I was thinking for the long distance theme we would have favors wrapped like parcels, invitations will be designed like air mail, centerpieces would have vintage train lanterns and flowers, we would have a mailbox as our card box, seating arrangement would be a “Travel to your seat” theme. That’s just to name a few. We may also move the wedding to St Louis, since that was where we first met and its halfway for our families. My biggest concern is since we will be together by the wedding do we still want to have this theme.
Our wedding date is set for August 31st, 2013. And I was given a homework assignment to plan what we want for the wedding by the end of this week so my mom (who is paying for the wedding) and I can budget out the wedding (cause right now we have no budget and that has to change or this wedding will quickly get out of hand).
So bees I need help deciding because Fiance and I like all three and keep going back and forth for my own sanity and homework assignment I need it decided. Also if any of you have any other advice on how to make any of these different themes please share, I would love all the advice I could get.
