I have a cushion (but with a micropave halo and band) and I have a matching micropave eternity band as a wedding ring. Both are hand-set in platinum and hte width of the bands are 1.7mm. It’s supposed to be a matching set and I love it. I haven’t had problems and I’ve worn my ering for 2+ years and my wedding ring for a number of months now. I get it checked about every 4-6 months by the jeweler. I think if it’s a quality piece made by a reputable jeweler, the chances of the diamonds falling out would be quite small. My jeweler is so proud of his work that mine are guaranteed for life and they will replace any that fall out.

FWIW, I’m careful to not do anything extremely heavy duty, like moving, with my rings on. They did warn me about a woman who moved heavy furniture and her ring was super warped.

@ef2811:  I LOVE the band you picked out! I also have a solitaire and am liking the diamond bands with pave on all three sides … do you know what I’m talking about? Do those have a name? I think I saw one on bluenile … I’ll have to go find it! 🙂

@ef2811:  I tried to find a picture online of the two together, but they don’t have a photograph of the two together.

Anyway, here’s the band: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/liberty-diamonds-irvine#X0GGPk6v-eXUBOHcPeaUKA

Here’s the ring: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/liberty-diamonds-irvine#I4dAwUDldaO8KcjE5h6xLQ

These aren’t mine exactly, but mine are nearly identical.

If money isn’t an option, I’m sure all the major retailers like T&Co. have really good micropave bands that don’t have diamonds falling out left and right.

I have a 3-stone cushion and I’m getting a band with round stones- I originally wanted a micropave when I tried it on alone, but putting it with the ering it gets totally lost.  The round stones really complimented it well.

Lovely ring , since you have a plain band E -ring you may consider a shared prong band with 5 stones,7 stones or eternity, though I have heard that eternity ring are uncomfortable to wear daily.

I have a picture of a tiffany ring see the image below.

I have a shared prong eternity band. I think the TCW is about 2.7 carats (size 6)

@ef2811:  Yup my e-ring is a round. I’ve heard that cushions can look round with a 4 prong setting. If you switch your prongs to claw double prongs it will bring out the squareness of the cushion more.

My e-ring is a 2.4 carat solitaire.

This is what double claw prongs would look like.
