- Wedding: April 2015 - Miami, Fl
I’m getting married on April 25, 2015 and my dress deadline is quickly approaching! I need to make up my mind and order ASAP! There are 2 dresses that I have in mind but they both have aspects that I’m not 100% with. A little background on the wedding – we’re having a daytime event at a restaurant on the bay in Miami. The ceremony will be outside on the patio/deck and then will be followed by lunch inside the restaurant.
The first dress is an older design. It’s Allure 8856. I looove the train! I’m not too fond of the color of the net/lace on the neckline. The consultant told me that when the sample dress is old/dirty and that when mine comes in it will look better. Also the sample was ivory and I’d want to order white (I think) but they didn’t have a samploe in white for me to try on.
The second dress is Maggie Sottero Melanie. I’m absolutley in love with the lace back! The only negative is that the neckline is a little high for my taste and looks a little matronly to me. The consultant assured me that when this dress comes in my size it will look different and we can alter in to be lower. She pulled it down so I could visualize it better. I’ve been trying to search for other bees in this dress to see how the neckline is supposed to look but I can’t find any! There is another (old) Maggie Sottero Melanie design that keeps popping up instrad of this one.
Sorry for the huge/side ways pictures! This is my first time posting pictures. Bees please help!

kellyk7: I love Melanie on you!! The back is fabulous! I mean it is really one of the kind! I dont think it looks matronly, but I guess you canhave it altered. All in all Melanie is the winner in my eyes. Just wow!

kellyk7: The back of the first dress is gorgeous but the front reminds me a little bit of a night gown. I think the second one is beautiful though!

AnnaVictoria: the train on the first one made me go ‘ohhhhhhhhh’ out loud at work! lol. its stunning. are you planing on bussling it after the ceremony? if you are, then the wow factor for the rest of the evening will be the back of the second one. kinda hard choice! but either way, i’d go with the first one!

Definitely the Maggie! It’s really beautiful on you, and anything but matronly! I feel like somewhere in between the two necklines (pulled down and not pulled down) would be perfect!

ImaStarr: I agree with you on the front… it is somehow a bit loose and does have that night gown feel….

Date twin! I like them both, but the back of the second one won me over. However it seems like you aren’t totally in love with either, maybe take one more shopping trip? Do whatever you think is best for you, it would be much worse to order one you didn’t love! But, if your set on one of those I’d say the second, although both are very pretty and you look great in both of them!

While I prefer the Allure it’s important to state you said you’re not 100% about them I know your wedding date is fast approaching but why not take another day to look some more. You will either find a dress you are all in for or it will make you feel better about choosing one of these two. You don’t want to have dress regret from feeling pressured to buy quickly!

The Melanie is much better! I don’t think the neck is too high at all! You want to have a little more coverage in the front with the low lace back – it balances it out (think of how much skin you want exposed and to which guests – think grandparents, work friends, and MIL and adjust level of appropriateness from there).

Loved the second dress so i voted for it, but I also loved the train on the first dress! Eek!

The Melanie is so gorgeous – that back is incredible! It looks wonderful on your figure! I don’t think the neckline is matronly in the slightest.

the allure hands down.
I’m not a fan of the second.

i much prefer the first as well.

Can’t go wrong with either. How lucky you are to have the height and the figure to wear these lovley dresses. I voted for the first one because it seems more “sophisticated” to me and the lace is more unique. A little different from your standard lace bridal dress. The rain is amazing but the second one is divine too.

I love the Melanie on you! It was actually my second choice of dress – I was debating between that one, and the Maggie Sottero Sawyer. Ultimately, I ended up with the Sawyer because I loved the sexiness of the open back, something that the Melanie didn’t really have. But I LOVE the Melanie on you. Gorgeous!
