I am torn in between the two! I really wanna feel like a princess at my glamorous formal wedding but I also would like to get married before the year is out as we have been together since 2001 and have a 2 year old daughter and our 10 year anniversary is coming up in October. I have always dreamed of having a glamorous wedding wearing a beautiful ballgown and I dont wanna pass that up. If we go with the glamorous wedding we’d have to wait until next April. whAT DO i DOOOOooOOOoO?

Maybe you can have a small marriage ceremony in Oct and plan your glamorous wedding for April.

But only because I hate beach weddings. In my opinion it’s pretty but just so un practical and uncomfortable as a guest.

Similar idea as PP. You could have your intimate ceremony or go to the Justice of the Peace and then have a Glam Reception! =)
I say its always worth waiting for your dream wedding! We waited 18 months to save up the money to do it on our owns; not counting we’ve been together since 03! Do what you want, you dont want to have any regrets! xo

I think that getting what you want is worth waiting for. Also there is a possibility that you could do it before then isn’t there? Go Glam!

I am wearing a formal gown @ my park bluff wedding. The bluff is overlooking the beach. I say you can do both. Have the formality and have the beach or lake as your background.

Make your beach wedding a glamourous one!

One of the venues we looked at, we would have had the ceremony in a garden of a gorg hotel, then the reception would be a two second walk across the street in a building with a huge patio (cocktail hour) that overlooked the ocean.
You can have both, just need the right venue!!

Formal!! Only one day to be glammed up to the max!!

Why choose when you can have both? I am planning a very relaxed barefoot ceremony to be followed by a very glamorous blinged out reception complete with formal attire ,seated dinner, musicians and a live event artist. You can definetly pull off both!
Good luck to you whatever you decide

@ Miss Godiva your description sounds just like my venue @ The Fess Parker Doubletree in Santa Barbara

Wow thanksso much for the feedback! I have been waiting my whole life for this. So I better figure it out soon. I will post pics of my dream venue sometime this weekend!

I also think you can have a glamorous beach wedding. And I think you’ve been together this long, what’s a couple more months?
Summer is over in a second, then Christmas comes 10 seconds after that. Yes, Jan through April are boring, but you will be in the heat of hard-core planning so those months will fly for you.

- Wedding: July 2010 - The Tower Club
Oh my gosh girl, April 2012 will be here before you know it!
What do you truly want? It would be one thing if the dream wedding weren’t possible for another 10 years or something, in which case I would say to go ahead and get married now and just do the best you can.
But you’d be sacrificing your dream for the sake of, what, 6 months? That’s a blink of an eye, and you won’t even remember it 25 years from now when you’re showing your daughter your beautiful wedding pictures. 😉
