I love colour at weddings, so I went for the turqouise dress. And if it's tea length, they're likely to be able to wear it again....
I like color in weddings too, but I would have everyone try on the turqoise dress before making a decision. If you go for LBD, I would have different ones so that everyone has a flattering dress.
Would it be wierd to have the MOH wear turqouise and the other 4 wear black? Then you get to have both.

this one is what i was thinking of. i have actually had one of my bridesmaids try it on but im not sure yet because i dont want them to clash against me.. i'm wearing a davids bridal 9t9642

i dont think its weird to have 4 in black and 1 in turquoise... i'll just see what the girls are most comfortable with.
If I was a BM, I would prefer the LBD options. Either one would be great, but different LBDs would be better, imho. Teal is a tough color for me. I am fair-skinned and have dark hair. I would not look good in most teal colors - the darker the better for me.
I was a BM once for a bride that picked pewter blue dresses. All the other BMs were blond and tan so they looked great. I looked washed out:(
I've seen a lot of brides go to places like David's Bridal and have their bridesmaid choose their own gown as long as they are in the same color. Quite honestly, I think it looks better that way because all of the bridesmaids don't look like cookie-cutter brides with all in the same outfits but have dresses that flatter their own shape and show their own style.
I've done exactly that, hhcheung. My girls are all about the same height, but they couldn't be more different in body shape. They are actually almost all the same size too. But one dress could NOT have worked on all of them at any rate. You want them to be comfortable too. Mine had SO much fun picking theirs out.
I voted for different LBDs because it's what I did and it turned out really well. My gals were really happy to choose their dresses and make sure that they were spending money on something flattering AND rewearable.
lbds! every girl will wear it again and if you look at your photos in twenty years, black will never ever date. Colour is great, but black is timeless. Im going black.

i dont have pictures as of right now because i am at work but i will probably edit and add them... i want to know what you would do..
i have 5 bridesmaids, all different shapes and sizes and i am debating on finding a universally flattering dress in turquoise or letting them pick out their own LBD's...
what do you think
i have a dress picked out from jcpenney.com but i cant get on there at the moment.. if you search for dresses you'll see what i'm talking about.. its the teal tea length chiffon dress with the teal sash/ribbon.. its a GORGEOUS dress but i am torn as to what i want and so are they!
