I can’t make up my mind and I need to order this week. Black tie wedding. Cost doesn’t matter.
Option 1: Letterpressed in our colors (purple & grey). Would be paired with a silver metallic envelope.
Option 2: On metallic paper, but not letterpressed. It would be the grey/white option. Would be paired with silver metallic envelope. The scroll work matches the invitations we have picked out (invites will be letterpress). Plus it’d be super cheap for me to order matching pieces like gift tags for this one.
I kind of like the second option more. My mom is worried the second one isn’t as nice as letterpress. I do have a sample of both and of course it’s metallic paper vs letterpress paper feel.

Can someone who voted for #1 give me a reason why? Does it just look that much better than #2?

I think option one is more modern looking, but either would be perfectly nice. There’s certainly nothing wrong with option two.

#1 looks classier, and nothing compares to Letterpress.
Honestly, I think option 1 is easier to read…

I like the 1st better. I love the look of letterpress. It also feels so nice! 😀

#2 is too busy for me. I like the simplicity of #1 and like PP said, nothing beats letter press.

# 2 looks faded, hard to read, the side design takes away from the message, making the message smaller.
I like # 1 because it’s bold, dark colors and easy to read because the letters are large.

I voted 1 purely because it is letterpress. Letterpress = fancy to me.
ETA: the second one is written in too pale a font, so its hard to read.

I prefer the look of #2, but I agree that if you’re going for super-formal, starting it off that way from the beginning is a good way to set the tone.
If cost doesn’t matter, I have to believe you could find someone to do the design of #2 in letterpress. Lots of custom letterpress shops out there.
#2 is a lot prettier to me.

The letter press is very elegant, and will set the tone for your black-tie affair.

#1 is just a lot nicer. Better colors, better font. Letterpress paper is nice too

@NAvery: You are right I could find someone to letterpress option 2, but I waited too long and I really am getting short on time now.

First one looks more expensive (and design is nicer) than the second
