I’ve always loved the ribbon/fabric look of a ceremony background and that’s what we were planning on doing until I started thinking about the tree we are getting married under. One of the main reasons we chose this venue was because of this beautiful, large tree with an option to have the ceremony underneath it. I feel like adding a ribbon backdrop might defeat the purpose and cover the tree too much. Especially since we will be placing a small table at the alter for the tree planting ceremony.
What do you think? Should I give up on my dream of a beautiful, floating in the wind fabric ribbon backdrop that way the tree is the focus? Do you have any other ideas for what we could do at the alter?

You could have crystals hanging from the tree for floating candles. I think the ribbon would be too much though.

@future_mrs_ak: I would just focus on the tree. I like the idea of ribbon backdrops but I think like you said it defeats the purpose of the beautiful tree!
Here is another option…..maybe hang a few pomander balls if you want to dress it up a bit. I think this creats visual interest without taking away or being too much.
I think the tree is beautiful and you really don’t need anything…jsut offering this as another possible option!

@future_mrs_ak: Is there any way to set up a ribbon display behind your sweetheart/head table, and then just use the tree for the ceremony? OR tie ribbons to the tree branches.

@weddingbound: That’s a good idea! I like how the pomander balls in the tree match the ailse pomanders.

@jessicadarling: I was thinking about creating a ribbon display on the wall behind the dance floor as an accent wall.
