So my FH & I love the Stroudsmoor Country Inn & we're going to see it on Tuesday & while the prices are very fair compared to many things we've seen, we've had to cut our guest list A LOT to be able to afford it (we're down to 140 & we still have to cut more b/c the $ leftover will not cover all the other things we would have to book)....Also, for the bar, we can't even afford to provide mixed drinks/liquor for our guests which we don't feel right about (it would be beer/champagne/wine instead) Then I found Penn's Peak, where all my mom's side of the family grew up (Jim Thorpe)- It is conveniently located, works with our rustic theme (wood inside, pretty views) and the menu is very inexpensive.... With it being so inexpensive, we could have our entire guest list (175+) and feed them all prime rib (hypothetically- they would have 3 choices) and have a preimum 4 hour open bar, etc. I'm just afraid the food is going to taste terrible because the prices are so low and the place is primarily a concert venue- They don't give us tastings (even if we pay) until AFTER you've booked with them (scary) and I can't find almost any reviews about the food for weddings (there is a separate bar restaurant called Roadies that does not have the same chef/kitchen/food that does have reviews online)  I don't know what to do :(     HELP!

My FI and I were just talking about how nobody will remember the food anyway, so as long as the rest of the wedding, (venue, bar, etc.) is great, I say go with the cheaper place.  Trust me, people would rather have average food and an open bar than great food and cheap everything else.  Just my opinion... good luck!
