I prefer live music, either a violinist or guitarist (a guitarist may make more sense for a destination wedding)
A guitar would probably be the best fit for your wedding. It's not stuffy and would reflect a little bit of Mexican culture. :)
I play the harp so I am kinda biased but it would be so pretty, and a treat for the guests because it is not a instrument that is heard very often.
Thanks for the input ladies!
@hisbunny: Hmm I was torn between the violin and the harp, but truthfully I don't really know what type of music the harpist would play. I may need to visit youtube tonight..
I've heard some good reviews about the "Spanish Guitar" at this resort as well. I'd still love some more input though :)
I'd definitely go w/ the guitar if getting married in Mexico.

My hubbie-to-be and I have been trying to decide on what type of music to play for our processional. We've had a few differing opinions, so I'd like to hear yours!
We're having a destination wedding at a resort in Mexico with about 60-70 guests (some still unconfirmed). We have the option of either selecting our own music to play over a sound system through an Ipod or we can have a live musician. The musicians we can choose from are a violinist, guitarist, saxophonist, or harpist.
What are your thoughts? FI thinks that a musician, especially the violinist, would be too stuffy. I on the other hand am leaning more towards having a live musician.
Thanks for your input!!
Edit: I should also mention that we will have a live Mexican trio playing at our reception later on
