Ok Bees- looong time lurker, first time poster. So my dilemma is between two gorgeous Monique Lhullier dresses…both dresses have overskirts that can be removed.
Dress 1: “Memory” gown
Elegant, shows off my figure. And I LOVE the sleeves. I think it’s so elegant without being too sexy. First pic is me, second is on the model. I love it, but I am terrified that people will think it’s boring or matronly.
Dress 2: “Embrace” gown. First pic is with the dress only; second pic is with the attached over skirt.
This dress makes me feel truly princessey and I love that…but…I feel like it doesn’t flatter my figure as much. Another major issue is I think my chest looks way too big in this dress- like your eyes are drawn to my chest first. It may also accentuate my broad shoulders :/. Also, I’m 31 and scared of trying too hard to look like a 20 year old bride! Ahhh.
Please let me know your honest opinions!!!
Thanks in advance!

silove: first one definitely! It’s breathtaking!

First one, I’m a sucker for her long sleeves 😉

YES to the first one! Those sleeves are beautiful, nothing matronly about it. Wow those are ALL spectacular, the first is my favorite though!

I don’t think #1 looks matronly at all. I love them both but I like #1 slightly more.

The first one! NOTHING about that dress screams, “boring” or “matronly.” It is classic, beautiful, and shows off your killer figure.

silove: I think you look amazing in both. What time of year and where are you getting married? For fall, winter, or early spring/cooler temperatures I would choose the first one. I would choose the second one for late spring or summer. Your figure looks great in the first one and the second one. Your shoulders are not too broad, they look nice and toned.

Well. you guys are awesome…I had a crappy day and then came home to read all your responses☺️.
The first one is the winner, obviously!! It’s funny how you have a certain idea in your head (in my case, the princess thing) but it just does not go with your looks or style. Thanks for letting me see clearly, honey bees 🙂
The only downside is that I put a down payment (as in, half the cost of the dress

silove: I love the second one but they are both beautiful! Btw #1 looks sooooo much better on u than the model!

silove: yep! #1 no doubt, not even a question! That dress was made for YOU! Amazing!!! 🙂

i love both on you. the second one without the skirt is my favourite. i think your figure looks amazing in it.
i’m not sure when your wedding is but if it’s in the fall or winter, maybe the long sleeves would be nice.

The first gown is utterly stunning – but I agree that it’s more appropriate for a winter or autumn wedding.

I like the shape of the first one, it’s got a really classy vitage feel. It actually looks a lot like my grandma’s wedding dress (minus the plunging neckline) from the twenties. She looked so amazing. The only thing is the line down the centre. My eye is immediately drawn to that. Though it’s less noticeable with the overskirt on.
The second one is a nice dress, but it hides your figure too much and just isn’t as beautiful and different.
