I'm going to re-do our bathroom in grays and greens. But I can't paint, so it's going to just be decals on our cream walls to bring in the color scheme.
Everything in our apartment is very masculine and my husband is super afraid to let that go.
I would go with a dark bold red. That could be very pretty, and would add that pop of color. Something like this:

Our first floor bathroom walls are grey - which actually looks quite nice and allows us to use lots of different colours. But I've always imagined having a red bathroom with black fixtures. But if you're keeping your white fixtures - maybe paint a bright blue or green?
Our bath is sort of a gold beige wall (we painted it that color). We have mostly white as the accent (shower curtain, trim, doors, etc) but our accent colors are brown and slate blue. Brown wicker shades, brown rug. The brown, gold and white are great together, and the blue is just a hint of an accent.
I would go with something neutral - like a charcol grey, ice blue, dark brown, something like that if you are unsure if you are going to paint. Then accent with a bold color:
Yellow, Dark Brown & Brick Red
Yellow, Charcol Grey & Grass Green
Yellow, Dark Grey & Teal
Yellow, Dark Grey & Eggplant
You could also stick with the Yellow and White, really do the yellow and white & accent with something bold, like Fuschia or Lime Green.
It might help to know what color you were "thinking" of painting it.
Also, check out the following webiste. It will help you to see if your color choices look good together:
I would go with a rich chocolate brown. We have yellowish walls and white fixtures and use brown as a bold accent color!
I love garnet and gold!! Especially if all your fixtures are white to brighten things up.
My friend had a dark bathroom like that she painted a gold/tan color and then used a red shower curtain and towels, and mounted two dark wood shelves and put some bamboo in them. Turned out great.
I think a dark red or a grey would be lovely. =)
We're redoing our guest bathroom in teal/turquoise and zebra print.
Have you looked at www.younghouselove.com?
They have one of the cutest little guest baths I've seen & they have a while pedastool sink too! They did a very neutral stripe, & its so pretty.
Personally I think more calm & cool colors vs. bold are great for a guest bath. Like soft greens, blues, & grays for example.
We painted our half-bath a sunshine yellow. It looks really good with white fixtures. Here's a pic.

i think you should do navy blue accents!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this is pretty fin with the yello, orange, and white:

The blue in this one really lighten ups the yellow:

I am trying to figure out what color to do our half bath on our first floor in. It's the guest bath, so I want it to look nice. It is painted a honey mustard color, but I would say it is slightly more tan than that. I am considering repainting, but FH and I disagree on that. The toilet, pedestal sink, and cabinet over the toilet are all white. What color hand towels would you use to accent? I would like to have something that will also look good if I get to repaint. I am fine with something a little bold- I think bathrooms are good places to do that.
