The above are a few pics of my Wedding venue, it is my ceramony and reception location.
We are having a Dark Romance/Gothic Glam themed wedding. We are alowed to pretty much decoarte how ever we feel aslong as we dont damage the paint.
I love pics where they have fairy lights and fabric draped to sofen the ceilings… but this ceiling isnt that high…maybe 9ft high.
The shape of the room is an L, at one end is the alter and where the tables are for dinner. In the center of the room is the bar and the tick of the L is the dance floor with a cocktail area and a pool table.
I want a spooky atmosphere but not too dark or tacky. We want elegance and glamour with a sort of Halloween twist.
I am having a kids area with coloring in books and games like, Pin The Bow Tie on Mr Bones.
I have a basic idea of our table decor but I am happy to hear ALL ideas.
We are also wanting to DIY as much as possiable and we need the decor to be easy to store, easy to put up and taken down.
Help? Any ideas?
P.S. We both love drama and WOW! Every Halloween, Christmas and Birthday we are trying new things that are better and more BANG for your buck.
So nothing is too over the top.
Thankyou for your input and ideas.

@laura.batty: If you want dark but not tacky, I really love the first picture for chair covers!
I then would buy candle holders, vases, etc and either buy them a dark color or spray paint them either black, dark grey, or silver. As far as candles, instead of buying the traditional white I’d go with grey/black.
If you don’t like the black chair covers, I’d go with grey and black bows, or white with grey bows.
Your style is very different than mine. My venue is full of dark wood and fire places, I’m going with light colors for everything else to brighten up the room!

PS if you have any resale shops (we have salvation army) I would go there for centerpieces as they will be cheap and easy to DIY. My setting is going to be very eclectic, all my center pieces will be different! I am using old silver plated teapots and pitchers, and also cheap vases from salvation army spray painted to a different color (like white). I bet you could pull off non matching center pieces, with a dark eclectic look!

@SimplyEuphoric: I love the eclectic idea! I have been collecting odd bottles so I can spray paint them black and turn them into potion bottles.
We are having the black chair covers with red bows.
This venue wasnt my first choice. The room we origionally wanted to hire was amazing! High ceilings and chandeliers. And a wall of mirrors in these vinatge gothic frames.
The down side of that venue was the quality of the staff (very rude) and the kitchens where not the cleanest.

I am definatly having this runner for the ceramony.
And I love the idea of Vampire Teeth as the place card holder.
But Flower arrangements? How to set up the table decor? What to hang on the walls?

@laura.batty: Have you heard of scene setters? They are temporary wallpaper -like decorations to suit any theme. You can attach them with 3M Command strips or use double sided tape or poster putty.
Here’s a Goth example:
For centerpieces, you could combine red flowers with black feathers
or use these beautiful dark callas- centre bottom pic
an easy DIY are manzanita branches spray painted black with red silk flowers hot glued on
these glitter candelabra would work- I would cut off the spiders
this one actually holds standard tapers
you could also rent black candelabra-to minimize the expense of flowers, you could simply scatter red silk petals on the table around the candelabra
black birdcages with a pillar candle would be simple and dramatic
