help me eat healthy please :)

I’m not sure about breastfeeding as I haven’t had a child yet! I know skipping meals puts your body into starvation mode and then it starts storing everything you eat as fat since it’s not sure when it will get it’t next meal. Cook up a bunch of chicken, ground meat, whatever protein you like and is versatile for you. I do salads everyday for lunch, and you can add all sorts of stuff to a salad. I start with dark leafy greens, spinach& kale, add the protein, add healthy fat like olive oil, avocado, you can add nuts, seeds, other vegetables, get creative! I even used to add rice to my salads!! Everyone around me thought I was nuts!

If salads don’t do the trick, try smoothies!

avocado, leafy greens, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, berries, are a great start. There are tons of recipes out there as well for your to peruse to find what you need since you are nursing. Just eat something!!! Hope this helps!

I wouldn’t know about special requirements for breastfeeding moms, but if you just want to eat healthier in general, eating lots more veggies for one thing seems to be a foolproof way to go about it. I hate eating salads, and I didn’t really know what to do with many different types of vegetables except the same old, same old, but I’ve found the paleo community really helpful for easy (most of them VERY easy) and delicious veg prep.

I don’t even eat paleo, but I do eat a lot of vegetables. I think even something like baked sweet potato fries is supremely easy (takes me about 5 mins of prep time, if that) tastes addictingly delicious, and would be much healthier than chips and cookies.

Honeslty, breakfist and lunch is a breeze, but with dinner my brain is always screaming PASTA or CHEESE. So I went onto Pinterest and typed “Lite” and then something like ‘casserole’ and found some really good and easy ideas for dinner that both my SO and I enjoy. Just remember to swap out whole grain versions whenever possible, like pasta or rice, and it makes a BIG difference
