I think if you are having it altered anyway, ask them to ass the pleated "whatever".
It doesnt seem rustic at all, but that is OK!
Do you like something like this?

Why dont you add some type of lacey sash with maybe pearls and some antique brooch on it? You can even have it super long to tie in a loose bow in the back with the lace hanging down.
Also maybe a vintage rustic head peice to match the sash will bring in the elements you want with out totally changinf your gown.
I've thought about doing a sash incorporating lace from my mom's dress but it's a corset back...
And I LOVE the idea of some sort of bootie, but I have a tatoo of cherry blossoms on top of one foot and I either want them to be totally visible or totally hidden so I don't have some weird partial tat in a pic.

Help! I'm getting married on a mountain farm in NH in September. My fiance and I are having a vintage rustic chic kind of wedding/reception and I have my dress (which I love) but I want to add some details to help it fit in with our surroundings (which include a hard dirt floor barn reception!)..here's the dress pre-alterations...
I would LOVE to have a layer peeking out from under the hem of the dress of a pleated tulle or crinoline. Can I get a slip long enough for this or would I have to have something spiffy and new made? Keep in mind I'm getting it fitted through the hips and thigh with alterations so it's almost a mermaid...thus a normal A Line crinoline won't do the trick. I just feel like that extra little frilly edge would make it a little bit more "me" and help keep the bottom of the gown itself cleaner! SUGGESTIONS!?!? I also need shoe help. I really want an excuse to get some kick butt new heels, but need something simple enouch to go with the gold vintage jewelry I'm on the search for. Help me, bees! Anyone else change their gown a bit to accomodate for a dirt reception floor!?!?
