Check out Sue Wong's floor length gowns. I got a short one for my rehearsal dinner and it was 300. The full length ones I think were 500-1100 depending on how much beading.
go to preowneddresses.com
they have more than 50% of what the org dress is.. good luck
Aaa! I love "Willow" SO much! And the Monique is gorgeous as well. I'd try Pronovias less expensive lines, La Sposa and San Patrick. I'm not exactly sure of the price range, but they are certain less expensive that JP and ML, and they have the silhouette you are looking for.

This one is $1000. There are other similar flowy designs that most likely come with a similar price tag. Including one with gorgeous flowy capsleeves. Not sure on that one's price.
http://www.unique-vintage.com/white-chiffon-empire-waisted-beaded-prom-gown-size-p-8571.html -I'll be getting this one and modifying it slightly for my rehearsal dress.
I'm such a huge fan of these 2...
I'm not sure of the prices but check out Maggie Sotteros Destination Collection

@mandypop: Thank you for recommending Sue Wong! I've never heard of her before, and I really like her styles! -- and the prices are great! Thank you!
@Bella88: I'll definitely keep pre-owned in mind - I just have an issue with not being able to return to the retailer (if online) if it doesn't look good on me. Definitely an option, though. Thank you!
@sarahbabs: Thank you for your suggestion! I checked out Pronovias, and they definitely have some wonderfully beautiful styles. Their "You" line is also less expensive (up to $1200). Thanks a lot!
@kitcat12: WOW! Thank you so much! I've never heard of unique-vintage.com - that dress is beautiful. I absolutely love the beaded waist and flowy fabric! And for $400? Yessss.
I can't believe those other uniqe-vintage dresses are only $60! Holy camoly! You rock.
To you and @HappilyEverAfter54, Maggie Sottero's AD3395 is marvellous. That's actually now a contender. Thank you ladies for linking me to this site.
That dress is AMAZING!
I got a WToo dress and loved it.
Here are some you might like!
Jasmine --around 1300

Olivia --around 1200

Ivy --around 1500
http://watters.com/Product/WtooBrides/17910/
Darn. My WToo was much, much less, but these are much more detailed. Still WToo is very, very reasonable so I would look at the whole collection.
Here is one under 1000.
Tosca --around 750
http://watters.com/Product/WtooBrides/15347/
DEFINITELY check out the Vera Wang collection at Davids.
Here is a beauty for $400!
@Sharonet: *Thank you!!* Wtoo Jasmine is actually one of my top contenders!! I didn't know the price yet and was nervous, but $1300 may be doable... we'll see... it's still a little steep for me, but I do love it.
Wow, Olivia is so special - I actually really like blush pink and have considered that for a dress.
Though Ivy's beautiful, $1500's too much, sadly :(
I like the skirt and layered rouching on the bodice of the Tosca - and great price.
How do you know the prices of the Wtoo gowns? Are they posted somewhere or was it through your previous research?
-- And last but not least, that VW is only $400?!? - My body's buzzing with excitement.
I'm so happy with all these amazing options you guys are opening my eyes to!
ETA: Sad news: That VW is apparently discontinued. I thought it could be a winner... :(
Anyone else know of any other designers with styles (under $1000) like the ones I linked to at the start of this thread?
The Broke Ass Bride did a feature on several dresses like this.
http://www.thebrokeassbride.com/2011/06/cant-afford-itget-over-it-bridal-gown-for-a-vintage-affair/
I love the Broke Ass Bride options!
If you are really interested in the VW DB dress, maybe see if there are any stores that might still have it on their floors. A representative might be able to check stock at other stores or give you a list of stores in your region that you can call...a little detective work...might be worth it. I once tracked down a coat from the racks in a store across the company, paid for it over the phone, and had it shipped. Hopefully you could find something closer and be able to try it on...
Re: prices - I just plug in the deisgner and style and prices pop up from boutiques and online retailors. I found prices to be consistent to those when I went shopping in person.
So many gorgeous dresses coming out this season--enjoy your shopping! Be sure to get out and try some on soon if you haven't already. :)
@jessicaberac: Umm, you just posted a different dress as "your dress" in another thread. Any chance you work for the awkwardly named "Store of Dress"?
Good idea, Sharonet! (About calling to check for remaining dresses). I was thinking about doing something along those lines if I decided I wanted to try that style on.
@ LKBride89: Alice and Olivia has some super spunky, cool dresses! -- Don't see any long ones in white (or similar hue), though. Was thinking I may be able to get a longer bottom custom made if I fall in love with a short dress. (I do want a long one for my wedding.) Thanks!
@ mandypop: I just wanted to say that I am SOOO thankful you mentioned Sue Wong! I LOVE her stuff! I've fallen in love with one of her dresses and I may have to order it!! I know it's still early, but I swoon each time I look at it - and its price tag!
Thank you so much, everyone!
Keep 'em coming if you know of any other designers!
(Pardon the exclamation mark overload.)
My dress is made by Anjolique and is flowy and beautiful. I was on an under $1500 budget and did quite well! It's made of organza and has some subtle sparkly beading. Their website sucks but the dresses are really gorgeous in person.
Be careful with Unique Vintage, I live really close to their store and checked it out. Basically you get what you pay for. I thought a lot of the dresses looked and felt cheap. I did not buy a dress there. Just my opinion :)
@mrsrma: Good to know - thanks for the heads up!
I checked out Anjolique - There are a whole bunch of resses I like! They're so pretty and romantic. You weren't kidding about the website sucking, though, haha.
Also, if you go to stores in person a lot of times you can buy samples at a great price (like half off) and just have to pay for alterations. That might be a way to get your dream dress at a reasonable price. The store I found my dress at ranged from $700-$10,000 and had some great deals on the sample sale rack! I just told the salesgirl what my range was so I didn't fall in love with something I couldn't afford.
@mrsrma: But what about the ones I'm already fantasizing about from online?? Ha
I know there's also bound to be ones I love in some stores - sample sales are totally an option too - totally a good idea. Thanks for your advice!
Hahaha true that. Good luck and have fun finding your perfect dress! I know you'll find it!
Sample Sale. Sample Sale. Sample Sale. My Gurl was a Bagdley Mischka Sample gown. It cost the same as a BCBG gown. Monique does have a Sample Sale every season but its in Cali. Just sign up for her website. There's Church St. Bridals on the East Coast that sells Sample Sale dresses for a good pause.
Check out Pre-Owned, Recycled Bride, and Once Wed. Of you can go the China Route and save some serious $$$.
Good Luck
Saja Wedding has a lot of dresses under $1000. They have lots of flowy ones as well. Here's mine:

@squeak35: I have no idea how to find sample sales! How do you find out when & where there are sample sales? I'm in Canada - not sre if many happen here. That's awesome about your friend's dress - what a stroke of luck!
@awagy86: Saja dresses are super sweet! Lots of flow on them for sure, and they're beautiful. I love the back of HB6639 (unfortunately not the front) and the detailing on VN6609. I really love just how super flowy HB6764 is, too. And yours is gorgeous as well!
I wish more of the Saja dresses had natural waistlines rather than empire..
@Bella88: I totally appreciate that offer - your dress is beautiful, but it's probably not as soft as I'm hoping for, if that makes sense :)
yeapp lol :))) maggie and provonis is cool too..lets see what you will end up with :) good luck
A lot of the Bees already posted what I was going to say, so I'll elaborate.
Sue Wong dresses are great! Make sure you check out other retailers for her stuff. UniqueVintage doesn't carry the whole collection. You can find many of her dresses on Ebay (both used and new) for a discount; this is especially true of her bridal gowns. Unfortunately, a lot of her nonbridal stuff is more difficult to locate once a season has past. I wish I'd gotten a gown of hers last year when I had the chance; now I cannot find it anywhere, and I would have loved to use it as a nontraditional bridal gown.
I previously ordered a formal gown (~$200) from uniquevintage and was very pleased. I have not tried their less expensive "house brand" gowns, though. (Don't know what to call them). I would definitely give the website another try. Hint - browse the formal gown section for bridal stuff. Some of the bridal-looking gowns don't get sorted into the special "bridal" section for some reason.
I am also a fan of http://www.bluevelvetvintage.com/wedding-dresses/ They have some stock overlap with uniquevintage, so you might get a better deal on one site than the other. Bluevelvet takes better photos of the dresses imho, though.
I feel your pain with Willow. I'm a huge Jenny Packham fan and Willow is my favorite gown of hers from this season. You might want to browse used Claire Pettibone gowns as well. You might luck into something inexpensive.
Beh, I cannot get the link to work correctly. The link to the wedding dress section is on the lower left if you can get to the main page.
Bari Jay white collection, find a salon though the web photos do absolutely no justice to the designs
http://www.sinceritybridal.com/index.php
Sincerity Bridal describes their peices as classic, romantic and flowy. My dress is a Sincerity and it was about 749. Also, consider adding your own bling to your dress (or having a seamstress do it is the total will be in your budget) or you can make a belt type thing to put on the dress.
@goldendreams: Thank you for the suggestion! I like 3605
Also, you look amazing in your dress! Romantic-vintage vibe. I love it.
Everyone else, thank you too! All suggestions are appreciated!
@mandypop: Just wanted you to know that I ended up ordering a Sue Wong dress! Thank you so much for introducing me to her designs!
Thats great!! Which one?? You can PM me if you don't want to post it on the boards. I LOVE her stuff.

Guys, I'm in love with a dress I can't afford. Jenny Packham's "Willow". I also love this pre-fall Monique Lhuillier.
I adore flowy & dreamy sheath-style dresses, and need to find a designer with dresses under $1000.
Any designers like this you can think of?
If you know of any specific styles with a bit of silver "bling" too, that'd be amazing.
