I’m in a very similar position! 230 invited, about 80% live an hour or more away. We’re still working on the last few RSVPs, but so far, our breakfast has had a 37% acceptance rate. I thought it would be higher, but it’s still a good number of people.

for the morning after brunch we are inviting our wedding party, immediate family members, and oot guests. i would say thats about 20% of our guests give or take.

you’re right about better safe than sorry. i would plan for a little over what you’re expecting. i agree with freezing what you can for another time or send guests off with leftovers. 🙂

@lolot:  Have you already sent out the invitations? Our whole wedding will be casual, but the breakfast is super casual. Like I told people they can wear pajamas, so long as they conform to the normal societal standards of modesty. And I still asked people to RSVP, just so I would know how much food/drink/plates/etc. to get.

We just had our wedding.. 130 guests, 85 of which stayed at the resort property. Of those 85 that stayed, about 75 people stopped by for the brunch. We had a great turnout rate, lol! Everyone wanted to see everyone else one last time before we all went our separate ways.

Hmm, struggling with this too.  Don’t really want to do another round of invites, and thinking of trying to get word of mouth numbers as far as who’s coming.  I have NO idea!  Invited 160ish, 90% are OOT…. no clue what to expect the next day.

@lolot:  We casually spread the word amongst our family (family probably made up 50% of our guest list of 102 people).  We had 11 people at our morning after brunch, parents, siblings, and a few out of town aunts and uncles.

Granted very few guests stayed at the hotel where we had brunch overnight and there was a huge snowstorm the day after our wedding so people were anxious to get on the roads before it hit.

I think we ended up with about half our guests coming to ours.  (Similar background to yours – Saturday night wedding, partiers, mostly OOT guests).

ETA: My mom did try to feel out if people were going to come when she was talking to them, so I had a good idea of who was coming on my side.  MIL was not helpful in that regard, so his side was just a guess.

@lolot:  I’d never heard of a morning after brunch until the bee, so I wouldn’t be planning on it. We aren’t having one, for sure. I imagine not many people would go.

@lolot:  We had about 90% of our guests staying at the hotel where our ceremony and reception were and only half of those people turned up for brunch (which we had in the same hotel).  I did have some fairly heavy drinking at my wedding since their rooms were right upstairs.

You could always just desigante a person to go on a bagel run if a ton of people show up…
