Super sparkly options that are not diamond: Moissanite, faceted Herkimer Diamond (a variety of clear quartz) or faceted Danburite (another crystal that is clear and is diamond like, but not nearly as brilliant or fiery).

Also, there are many bees that are found of CZ, especially Asha. They are very glittery from what I understand, but I have never seen one in person.

I would probe her further in subtle ways to find out what she really likes before getting anything, but that is just me! I wanted to pick out my own ring. 🙂

Have you bought your wedding band yet? Ask her to go to a jewelery store to look at bands and casually ask her what type of rings she likes! Something super sparkly that is not diamond could be a lot of things!

Djacks88:

Moissanite fits the bill perfectly. It’s nota diamond, it’s extremely hard and has an incredible sparkle.

I would say a sapphire in a diamond halo!

Are you sure she said Australian quartz?  Australia is known for their black opals.  They’re very rare and full of fire.  This is an example of blue & green toned opal, but they also come in red, yellow, etc.

Smoky quartz? A 7 on the MOHs scale so not too soft. I have a pendant that has smoky quartz and it looks like it’d be sparkly if cut right… Though any e ring would look nice and sparkly if it has diamond side stones or a halo.

ddhb2007:  I wondered same thing lol. Is that yours? Very pretty! I saw a few black opal inlay rings but wasn’t sure if they’re too delicate for me.

atreyu547:  Yes, that’s my ring.  I’ve worn in for 14 1/2 years without any problems.  I even wear it camping, so it’s been banged around a bit.
