I hear what you’re saying, I have wicked stretch marks and a small but annoying belly and will likely never wear a bikini again 🙁 My boobs aren’t the same either.

But I’m not sure there’s anything you can do about loose skin (nor my stretch marks), short of surgery. No amount of working out is going to shrink your skin. I do ab workouts and cardio to help tone and loose 5-10 pounds, but that’s all I can really do. I love working out to Fitness Blender’s Youtube workouts.

sept22insf:  I’m sorry to say that I agree. I am down to my pre-pregnancy weight, but my skin and muscles are stretched out of shape and there’s no way I will lose the “pouch” completely without surgery.  (And yes, delay any possible surgery until you’re certain you’re done having kids).

I highly recommend working out where possible. If the gym is an hour away: get on your running shoes or on your bike; or get exercise equipment like a treadmill if you don’t want to exercise outside. Working out is good anyway, but don’t beat up on yourself if you can’t lose that stomach while other women can. It’s not because they work out more, it’s because some of us are stretched more during pregnancy.

imhisoneandonly:  have you tried BikiniBodyMommy.com? You can follow her on her YouTube videos, and she has 2 full 90 day workout series (currently she is doing a third). They’re all free and can be done from home, plus they’re short! She’s lost over 100lbs, and it’s awesome (and motivating) watching her transform over the course of the programs.

imhisoneandonly:  I don’t know if it’s in your budget but is having a mommy makeover an option?

I’ve recently become obsessed with the Kayla Itsines bikini body guide. The workouts are HARD but they’re only 28 minutes long, 3 days a week, mixed in with walking 2 days a week. You should Google her and see the pretty awesome transformations. She profiles a lot of moms who have had great success!

What kind of workouts do you like? I have some ideas on some programs that might help. What equipment did you have that your husband got rid of?

I lost my gut completely after having two kids back to back. I also didn’t get stretch marks but that was beyond my control. However, this may sound cliche but I upped my protein and cut eating carbs in half. Diet is the KEY.  Also, you MUST do weight training. Now, my waist has damn near disappeared. It takes committment though.

I was going to suggest Piyo. It was created by Chalene Johnson and is amazing. I have seen some friends really sculpt their bodies using it. It is a 60 day program. I can send you a video if you want.

Butterfly6:

I totally agree about the diet. Abs really are made in the kitchen. You also right about weight training. Muscle burns something like 35 calories per pound per where fat burns about 3 calories per pound per day.

Diet and lifting heavy are what saved me. I still have some skin looseness around my lower stomach area but losing the extra fat that was laying on top of my muscle and then gaining some more muscle definition made a huge difference! Now it doesn’t look or feel much different to anyone except me and that’s only because I’m extra critical of myself. My poor boobs are gonners but luckily a nice bikini or bra can fix that right up, haha.
