It seems everytime I drive my car (which I love) I think, "Self, you love this car so much that she should have a name." I would like something dignified and classy, like her. Some of the names I have been rolling around are
Charlotte
Eden
Elaine
Kate
Caroline
Mary-Claire
What is your cars name and please suggest names for mine
Here she is (2010 Ford Fusion)

I scrolled down just to see the picture (didn't want any outside influences) and determined it was most definitely a Robert.
Then I read it's a she...
Mine is a boring name - Grey. See, it's actually my bf's car, but when I was learning to drive stick on it, I felt we needed to be on better terms, first name basis actually, which required a name for the car. My family has had cars named: Dusty (dunno why), Cindy (cinamon color), Thumper (VW Rabbit), Cory (Corolla), Cammy (Camray), and Willow (willow green color). My bf has never named a car in his life and was entirely opposed to this. I contemplated something like Sylvia (silver color) for the car name but my two gal pals insisted a car with a stick shift MUST be male, so Grey it was.
Clearly my family is not creative on names so I can't help you. But maybe yours is a Sylvia!
I like Marie-Claire for your car!
I have not named my car, but when I was younger I did buy an old, used Lincon. It was pale blue and huge. The previous owner said it was named "Sergent Cloud". I loved that car!
I like Elaine. It made me giggle a little.
Mine's Lexy. She's a 14 year old Lexus. She's my favorite.
My husband named our burgandy ford focus "ladybug."
The green pontiac was grasshopper before that. I think we had just seen transformers.
I have never named my cars.. I had a friend who would do this when we were a bit younger but I never got into it. I think I would only name my car it was super pumped sports car or a vintage car. but the regular car I drive now shall remain nameless lol
Mine is Kobie (2010 Chevy Cobalt). I called my car before that "Evil Genius" (1999 Saturn SL2) because every time I was going on a road trip the Service Engine Soon light went on and didn't go off til we were home again, resulting in constant anxiety. EG did not like going to other cities at all. But he's STILL running and my fiance has him now.
I like Marie-Claire for your car.
Oh yeah, I forgot to add Kate. What could be more refined than a princess.
my cars name started off as "bruiser" because it was originally blue, got in a few accidents (before me) and had black panelling put on to replace the damage bits. So it was "black n blue" .
Then, I gave it an overhaul, and it is now bright royal sparkly blue, so, it's been renamed as the "smurfmobile" because I'm short, and it's blue.
Oh, and yea I kinda like Kate.
@burris4: Thats funny I have been trying to figure out my cars name too. I own a Black 2010 Fusion...
My car is Charlotte! So I'm a little partial to the name :)
But judging by your car...i think Helen works. but it's all about how you feel driving a Helen! ;)
I like Elaine. Mine is named Cricket because it's a manual transmission and when i was first learning on it and would let off the clutch incorrectly it'd chirp like a cricket!
I have a Toyota Corrola S (sport) so I named her Sassy! and she is quite sassy! :)
I drive a white VW Jetta and I named her Dragonfly. Problem is, I love the show Firefly so half the time I call her that by mistake. Then I have to apologize ;)
ETA: And I think the name Elaine really suits yours.
I used to drive a saturn and called it "the juicebox" since the majority of the body was made of plastic.
OP: Fiona Fusion!?
@Anxiouspeanut: That is funny! Don't you just love your Fusion? It is by far my favorite car. I didn't think I would ever love a car more than I loved my 03 Grand Am, but Fusions are amazing cars. Good luck finding a name.
I'll be honest - I've never understood why people name inanimate objects. I find it a little silly.
That said - my DH's co-workers decided to name my GPS. DH had borrowed it when they were travelling to use in the rental car and his co-workers decided that my GPS is now Phyllis.
my car (below) is "black beauty". my previous car was "stella the stratus".

I think I am leaning toward Charlotte and Kate.
@napabridekelsey: I can't drive a Helen because my husbands evil grandmother was named Helen and I couldn't bare being reminded of her everytime I drive her.
I've always named my cars!
My first car was an 85 Buick Skyhawk that was 2 tone blue and had no radio or AC. He was called "The Beast" followed by Fern the fern green Crystler Cirrus, Angel the white Ford Escort, Clifford the Big Red Car for my red Chevy Corsica, Mitzi the Malibu, Milli the Mazda 3 and now Nancy the Nissan Sentra! My GPS is also Gregory the Garmin.
Clearly I like the alliteration, so I like the suggestion of Fiona the Fusion. BUt I also like the suggestion of Elaine for some reason!
I have a tan Nissan Altima and her name is Sandy. I think your car needs a tougher name, it looks like a strong independent woman (car) to me..what that has to do with the name I like, I'm not sure. I first thought Victoria and call her Vicki.
@Mrs.KMM: I feel the same about a lot of things, but for some reason I have a habit of naming cars and computers.
@MrsCoachBtoBee: oh, I love Altimas. My stepsister just bought a navy blue one and it is lovely. Maybe your Sandy will bloom into a more mature Sandra some day. lol
@burris4: The navy blue ones are soooo pretty! Nah, Sandy doesn't wanna grow up! haha :)
My car was totalled out last thursday. My 1st real car my civic. I just got my dream car last night a Dodge Charger. We named her Big Sexy!!!
I'm gonna go against the grain and say I was instantly drawn to Caroline. I don't have a car, but my parents have an Echo named Emily, a 1962 MGB named Archie, and a 1960 Morris Minor named Mehitabel (there are stories about characters named Archie and Mehitabel. . .)
@Mrs.KMM: FI and I named our GPS! Her is named Gertrude. We always give things the most awful names. They just pop into our heads. Good thing we're not having kids! Although, our cat has an awesome name.
I have a 2008 black madza 3 and her name is Betty (from the Ram Jam song)
My previous car was a silver 2002 Kia Spectra and its name was Silver Bullet
My friends' cars are Green Lantern (old green VW), Red Rocket (Red Pontiac Wave) and Blue Bandit (Blue Toyota Echo).
I like Charlotte!
I used to drive a red sunfire & a friend of mine named her "Bianca" which was so fitting.
Now I drive a bug convertible and stuck with the B's and named her "Brianna" aka "Bree" for short - and yes I think its a bit silly to name a car, but its all in fun! :)
Here is my "Bree-Bug"

@burris4: It is by far the best car I have owned... The nicest too.. V6 AWD fully loaded 240 Horsepower.. so it needs a powerfull name lol mine is a boy...
I have a blue 2007 Chevy Cobalt that we call "Dane Emmett".
But, we just recently got a 2011 Ford Fusion that I nicknamed "Fefe" (Dane Emmett makes an appearance behind Fefe! lol)

Love this thread, my cars (well the most recent ones, if I had to list them all it would take too long)
Lester the Molester (1991 Buick Lesabre) I thought it looked like a car that someone scary would drive.
Farrabee (Farrah for short) 2002 Ford Focus
My car is Finnagin (Fin) now 2008 Ford Fusion.
