Bees I need help! My SO originally named the cat and for some reason she picked “Gunner”…I REALLY disliked the name but we made a deal that since we went with the cat that I loved the most, she would pick the name. (Even though the cat that SO liked was 5 years old and kind of overly sassy and probably wouldn’t have liked our dog…plus I was more allergic to that cat) SO told her mom & her sister the name and got dead silence on the other end of both calls. I kind of begged her to choose another name. She didn’t want to at first but after her mom’s non-reaction/reaction, she decided she didn’t want to call the cat Gunner anymore and told me to just pick his name. I don’t want to pick his name on my own! I told her that if she doesn’t help me pick his name, we’re staying with Gunner and her reply was “then he’s getting called ‘cat’, I’m not calling him Gunner”… I don’t know what to do now. SO works nights and has been up for almost 24 hours, so there’s a strong chance she’s just overtired and being grumpy/has her feelings hurt that I didn’t like the name she chose. I’m getting a little used to Gunner now that I’ve said it a million times in 2 hours. But just in case I’d really like some other options from you bees to tell SO when she wakes up! This is kitty!! He’s only 4 months, my first cat ever.

Oh I love him! Lets see, you could go traditional for black cats, Salem and Binx… but I wouldn’t go traditional if I were you.
Onyx would be kind of cool too though!
Or Jade for his awesome eyes!
Or something just cute: Milo, Toby, Tom, Jack, Sam, etc.
Congrats on the new addition!!

@soontobemrsm11: Zachary Binx! Love it. For some reason my mom let my brother and I name the kittens she got a few months ago…. she ended up with Eva and Nicodemus.

I’m totally into pets with people names – I don’t know why!
Some of my suggestions:
- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
@soontobemrsm11: Named my first cat Sake and my second cat Dexter. I also fostered three kittens which we called Juno, Chloe, and Nyx. I really want to call my next pet Julius, Jude for short.

He’s really cute. I actually like Gunner.
I’ve always wanted to get a boy cat, get him fat and call him Gus Gus (from Cinderella).
It doesn’t hurt to wait a few days and test out his personality. Is he a terror? Is he really affectionate? Does he hide a lot?

@soontobemrsm11: Tyson! Thats what we named our black cat

@emelee: Thackery Binx 😉 I would totally name a black cat Binx, I love that movie. Where I was an intern last year we took in strays through the ER, and a 3 week old black kitten was brought in that someone found in a parking lot. I called him Binx all night and asked the rescue that took him in if they could keep the name.

My favorite cat was named Chuckles. Everyone loved it and the vet staff always got a kick out of it.

Our all black girl is named India but if I was going to get another all black cat I’d name her Salem.

@pixiecat: Just wanted to say I am thrilled you spelled it Thackery and not Zachary! I love that show a TON and when people say Zachary it bugs me.
