First and foremost – I SUCK at photoshop. Bear this in mind.
… I’m altering my currently plain, straight neckline to a deep sweet heart (same as Enzoani Diana)…seen here:
and my dress has big floral accents on the skirt. Seen Here:
and I made a statement necklace (which I need to alter slightly – change the brooch) Here:
So here are some belts I like:
– photoshopped onto my dress:
Photoshopped onto my dress:
Belt #3 (most similar to the belt that comes with the dress…but I was unable to order from my store)
And photoshopped onto the dress
AND here is a better photoshop onto another bee who is in my same dress… the photo shopped just worked better on her photo bc of proportions and colours… and she is wearing the belt that comes with the dress… just for reference.
So which sash do you like??? Do you have suggestions??? I don’t want it to be too over the top bc the skirt already has the flowers and my necklace is pretty eye catching I think…. And yet before I ever bought a dress I really wanted a bold sash… please help!
I do plan to wait until my alterations are done before I buy a belt… but in the mean time…

Do you really need a belt? I think your statement necklace is enough, personally.

and here is the belt i tried on with it but I really don’t like it… but figure I should post at least one photo that i haven’t mangled with my photo shop “skills”

@iceland_bride: Well I think I want something kind of subtle??? Like not a super thick belt or one that has a lot more blingy stuff in the front…
I’m not very hour glass-y… and though I’m slim, from straight on I am kind of wide…. Most of my photos I stand at a slight angle so it’s hard to tell. But With a sash I feel like it makes my waist look a little smaller and I look a little more hourglass…

heres with no belt… but not wearing my necklace to see the full look…

@MrsPhilly: If you must wear a belt, I think a really thin crystal sash (like the one you tried and didn’t like) would look the best. But having said that, with the flowers, and the statement necklace, and the sweetheart neckline, and whatever you choose for your hair, I think there’s already enough going on, and the belt might push it into OTT territory.
Your dress looks great and you don’t look wide at all!

If you go with a belt, maybe loose the statement necklace and do statement earrings instead

Personally, I think it is beautiful without a belt because it is already so detailed and interesting. I voted for the second one because I think it is more simple and doesn’t take away from the dress. I also am a sucker for sparkle 🙂 It’s a beautiful dress and I love that neckline!

I vote no belt, or if you must, the last, skinny one.

I think the belt + flowers + big necklace = too much going on so I voted for “other” since there was no option for none. If you must do a belt I would do a skinny one.

I don’t think you need a belt, there’s already plenty of detail going on with your dress and necklace.

@MrsPhilly: I like the third belt. But if you’re adding the straps, do you think the necklace will make it too busy?

I love the dress, and your statement necklace is GORGEOUS!!
That said, I definitely would NOT attempt to wear both a statement necklace and a sparkly belt/sash. They will only compete with each other, and that will detract from your overall look.
Also, the design of your dress really does not lend itself to your wearing a belt, because of the asymmetry of the skirt. Your dress is beautiful by itself.

@MrsPhilly: I picked the flower belt because I like how it puts a flower on the opposite side from the skirt’s flower. I think they balance each other (I have OCD, lol!) and I think it looks most like it goes with that dress.

I don’t think it needs a belt, but my favorite belt is the first one.
