Since everyone on here is so creative and so full of great ideas, anyone care to share any great ideas for a baby shower for a little boy?  Laughing

i just threw a shower where we did a raffle. have everyone bring a certain number of diapers for each raffle ticket, (10 diapers per ticket) and we just gave away a few gift cards. that way, the mom ends up with tons of diapers, she was very appreciative.

This has nothing to do with Baby Showers perse, but I loved at the showers I've been to when instead of a guestbook, guests wrote their name and address on envelopes so the bride/mom wouldn't have to hunt for the right address when it came time to write thank-yous. It makes it SO much easier. (: Good luck and happy planning!

I hate when you have to write your address for your thank you note! I mean, you sent an invite so you have their address already!

Lillindy~ Is this their first child? I really enjoy a couple's shower for a first child baby shower. We had one for our shower. It was great and relaxed. We had greek food, played NO games but I did open my presents. They also had everybody wear pink! Men included. It was so cute.

Not sure why I put laughing at the end of my original post, lol.  I also forgot to mention this is for my sister!

@KateMW : Nope this is their second baby.  We never got to have a baby shower for her first son, though.  For sure everyone involved wants to keep it just a women's shower, plus I don't speak to her husband, so the less I have to be around the husband, the better for me and some of my other family members.

My all-time favourite baby shower inspiration is this French circus baby shower from HWTM. Sooo adorable!

Oh, I just saw a Cookie Monster idea, but not sure it would be good for a baby shower, it seems like it would make a better birthday party idea, huh?  My sister's one request was that it wasn't too child like.

I gave a shower (also baby boy) for one of my BMs.  She requested no "humiliating or terrible" games.  We themed the entire shower around the jungle themed nursery.  We had a diaper cake instead of a real cake and a buffet of goodness. We used the zebra and cheetah prints with brown tulle for the tables and kept the traditional shower decorations out.   It was classy and fun and the mom to be was thrilled.

We did include an advice card book for guests to write in.

I just found a really cute idea on a different wedding blog (can't remember which one), but here is a link to a similar project.

    http://onelovephoto.typepad.com/heathergilson/2008/03/sweet-thing-7-.html

It is basically a collaborative art project (you've probably done something like this growing up in school). You grid out sections on a canvas and have each guest paint one square. You can sketch the inspiration photo onto the canvas in pencil and even make it similar to a paint-by-numbers project if you want. Or you can give your guests more freedom, only showing them the reference picture, and you will end up with something more abstract. The possibilities are endless. You could use a photograph, a famous piece of art, or the theme of the nursery.

It will be a fun activity for the guests and a keepsake for the mom and baby with special touches from everyone who contributed to the painting. It could be hung in the nursery. I would also have a piece of cardstock for everyone to sign who painted a square (and then it can be framed or hung near the canvas like in an art gallery).

I haven't actually tried the project, but I'm waiting for the opportunity! Let me know how it goes if you decide to try:)
