These are the two gowns that I’m feeling the best about. I originally wanted lace…just what I picture as “bridal.” BUT when I put the other one on everyone just seemed to think that was it. It did make me feel really good but its not lace. I’m going to be 39 on our wedding day and it is a first marriage for both of us so I still want to feel bridal but I want to be age appropriate as well. They are both Maggie Sotter.
Maggie Presca – would have an ivory belt not black
Maggie Sotter Maude…the first is an 18 (I wear a 12-14)and they couldn’t tighten it enough on me to really get the benefit of the corset. The second is an 8 so it was SUPER tight up top and the proportions are off a bit…but you get the idea. Also…the consultant swears that the boobies will not be as out there in the correct size. Yes there will be some clevage but not as much as in either of these. THANKS!!!!!

I think you look amazing in the Presca!

I like the first on you the best but both are beautiful!

I like the first one better because of the color and it’s more romantic to me.

FYI: your rack is amazing. I pray for more boobs
I love the first dress. There is just something different about it.

@baylorgirl96: Personally, I like the Presca! The lace is just beautiful!
The second dress is too low cut for me, although the rouching does make your waist look tiny.
I was 40 on my wedding day and I don’t think about dresses in terms of age appropriateness. You should pick the dress you love, and if you’ve always pictured a lace dress, then I wholeheartedly say go with lace!

Presca, definitely! You look beautiful in it!

I love the first one! So romantic 🙂

I think both gowns are beautiful, and you have a fantastic figure and will look great in either of them.
I should note that I, personally, would not be comfortable with the amount of cleavage that exists with the style of the second gown. I would have to alter the design of the second dress by having a modesty piece added or perhaps have the sides sewn together part of the way up from where the sides currently intersect (or perhaps there is a much better way to address this issue.)
Please do not allow your age to be of any concern in making this decision. Neither of these dresses is at all too “young” for a 39-year-old bride. I was a first time bride — in my mid 40s — and I, too, wanted a very bridal look.
Best wishes on your upcoming marriage! 🙂

Both look good n you but I’m more of a fan of the first dress! I think it’s just overall more flattering on you!

Keep looking. You aren’t in love with either of these, although-they are both beautiful on you. You deserve to feel like a bride regardless of your age. You will find the right combo of bridal and sophistication. I was a first timer at 41 and wish I had kept at it a little longer.
