Love the first and last one! I think that they are all pretty appropriate for the occasion so you cant really go wrong!

I always love green on red heads, and am a sucker for an interesting neckline, so I vote #9.

I think the dresses with the slits all the way up are too sexy for a formal award ceremony for your FI. Maybe if it was you, and you knew everyone and knew other people would be wearing something similar then sure.. but with the invitation specifically stating floor length gown, I wouldnt do it. Now for the rest

Dress 1: LOVE this dress, but again, I dont know if its right for the event you’re going to. Its a bit more then pretty and formal, its super sexy and almost looks like lingerie if you made it super short. BUt again, its gorgeous.

Dress 2: I think this would be the winner out of all of these. It has a little something extra to make it sexy. HOWEVER, I think it would look best with a darker hair color. If it comes in another color then I say go for it, otherwise.. make sure it looks right with your color.

Dress 3: Looks to beauty queen.

Dress 4: I know I know, I said no slits. but this dress is freaking gorgeous! I really wish the slit didnt go up so high because I would say this is the one. BUT, it does.. I think you could make it work though if you thought of wearing hose or for whatever reason the slit isnt as high on you (you look petite, so theres a possibility it would be closer to the knee) If it is, GO FOR IT. Seriously, its gorgeous and the top is so elegant and classy.

Dress 5: Eww. No, I dont like it at all. Reminds me of a bad prom dress. Sorry 🙁

Dress 6: I really like this one too, but while I think its nice but its also the traditional formal wear. Someone there will most likely be wearing something very similar. But, if you are looking for safe.. this is the dress.

Dress 7: The slit. So no. Plus, I dont like the top much, too much going on.

Dress 8: LOVE! Oh, this ones a pretty one too. Just be careful about how low cut and revealing it is on you, it looks like your girls are much bigger than the models. Otherwise, I think its a gorgeous dress and would be by #2 pick.

Dress 9: Again, traditional forma dress. I dont like it much. Its just, plain.. BUT, you could always dress it up with some sparkly jewelry which would look great and it would def. keep the attention more on your FI while still looking fab.

Dress 10: Meeeeh. I am not a fan of formal gowns with spaghetti straps.

Dress 11: I dont know your style, but if you can pull off this dress I def. think its beautiful. I wouldnt put it at the top of the list though, maybe somewhere in the middle..

Hope this helps! As a disclosure: I have only ever been to 1 or 2 (maybe more, I cant remember) formal events. Ive seen a good amount of people going to them though, and dressing up, etc. Regardless, I am sure you’ll pick the right dress and look fabulous! Congratulations to your FI on all of his hard work!

I like #2 best and here is why:

You do not want the spotlight to be on you (you said, lol).  So avoid: cleavage, leg, sparkles.  A dark color is good.  That’s why I like #2.  It is very tasteful!  I could see it in a different color though – a nice blue or green would be lovely on you!

Dress 10 looks like it was made for you. Green clothes and red hair is a perfect combination.

I like 1,4,7,8 not necessarily in that order.

    Edit: Forgot #10, love!

The Purple Halter, or any of the green ones, would look amazing with your complexion, and would let you shine without outshining him.

I would skip all the ones with the crazy high leg slits. You don’t want to look like Jessica Rabbit. My favorite is the last one.

I like dress #2, but I’m not sure the burgandy color would compliment your hair color.

The green dresses (7, 9, 10, 11) would be the best color choice for your complexion. Of those dresses I really like dress #7 and #10.  For the record, I don’t think the slit is inappropriate for a formal function, especially since it has coverage up top.

they are all very nice.  i think you will need to try on them on to get a better idea of what style looks best on your body.

    # 10 is stunning.
