We’re having a destination wedding in November on the beach in the Bahamas. I want my colors to be pinks and oranges: beachy, fun, sunset-y colors. Not paying attention to the season, because it’s summer year round down there. I originally wanted watermelon from david’s bridal but we didn’t like the quality of the dresses or the customer service…
I want to go with an Alfred Angelo dress because my bridesmaids already found dress styles there they like, but now it’s just deciding between a color. It’s either pomegranate or lipstick. When one of my bridesmaids saw the pomegranate in person, she thought it was way too bright. But I think lipstick is a bit too much on the red side. In photographs it looks red. Both are pretty colors…
Top one is pomegranate
The bottom picture is lipstick… both satin…
I am letting the girls decide on their own style, and it will be in satin, knee-length.
Or maybe I should just go with another designer with a similar colo???

I agree that the lipstick color is too red for what you are looking for! I dont think the pomegranate is too bright if its for a fun, beachy wedding!! Its really beautiful!

I know its very different, but seeing as you like sunset colours, what about a coral pink? (I am so in love with coral pink right now)

@Firie: I like it too! But my bridesmaids are all pretty pale and I don’t know if this color would look good on them. It’s worth a try! I also have a girls in every shape and size so that makes it hard too!

I chose the 1st, but keep in mind that the color is often different on various computers, so the color on the screen might not match the dress material color – check the fabric swatches at the store for a better idea. 😉

Girl, believe me… I’ve been in the store several times, bought the swatch book, etc. I’m a crazy indecisive bride! But it’s a brand new color as of December 2011 so there aren’t any real pics of bridesmaids wearing it anywhere! 🙁

My wedding is in 3 weeks…My colors are pink shades…light and dark and I went with the chiffon dress in lipstick…its lighter than the satin…I feel like the pom color is a little bright and I have a redhead in my wedding party so needed her to look good in it as well 🙂

I think an orangy pink would look better for what you’re going for in the Bahamas.

check out my bridesmaid dresses that are brand new… they can even be made short… they are light pink but would look beautiful for a wedding in the bahamas…

I have got to say… watching four weddings last night made me question bright BM dresses like ive never done before! For that reason, and that reason only… I would said neither.. go with the coral color like @Firie: suggested. It looks much better and not all in your face burning out your pupils

I think either that coral colour that a PP posted or the pomegranite colour (: I think lipstick is too red for the beach wedding you’re planning.
