I picked the 6 because you can clearly see the sides of the diamond.  I don’tlike the “bar” that goes across the bottom of the stone with the 4.

    Just my thoughts

mrssloan2013:  Because 1.51 carats is on the larger side, I’d go with the second setting as it is a bit lower. With a cathedral setting, you’ll find that you are constantly smacking your ring on things… and people!

I actually like the bar design because it protects the diamond a bit. I have a “basket” design on my ering because I tend to be ok the clumsy side and am always banging my ring against things… and my diamond is quite a bit smaller than yours!

Im’ not a fan of the harsh lines of the 6 prong one and prefer the softer look of the double.  I have a bar also, and I didn’t like it at frist, but DH got it cause it made the prongs more secure and after 4 years, I barely notice it and almost never really notice the side profile.  Heres my RB on shared prong band with matching wb.

I love the profile of the double claw head. It’s much prettier to me than the plain 6 prong.

I love the double claw prongs and I also really like the bar with the little diamonds.

mrssloan2013:  i prefer the double claw.  Generally, i like 6 prong because it makes the diamond look round but i do not like this particular setting because it looks like they shoved a peg head inbetween a cathedral and i think it looks a little cheap on the profile.

mrssloan2013:  I like the double four prong. IMO the six will maintain the round look and the four might make it look cushiony. But I like the basket better than seeing the six prongs. Too much metal IMO. Both are beautiful! Are you changing your glorious ering?

ETA I also like the lower height of the four prong better.

The 6 prong setting looks cheap, for some reason. It just doesn’t flow. It’s like they took bits and pieces from different rings and shoved them together.
