I’m still 10 months out for my wedding, but I’m trying to decide on a wedding hairstyle so I can pick my veil/headpiece.
My dilema is that I’ve had so many great updos in the past. How do I top them? Do I even try? Here’s a sample of my past updos (mostly as a BM in friends’ weddings):
I’m currently blond and my hair is long (about 1/2 way down my back). Here’s my wedding hair ‘wish list’:
– BIG. I can pull off big hair because I’ve got a huge head (seriously), so I’d like to have lots of volume on top.
– 1/2 updo. I tend to get hot, so I’d like it at least 1/2 up but with some down to show how long it is.
– Works with a tiara/headband and a veil (placed high on the head not under the hair).
– I’m open to the ‘side-do’ but my concern here is that from the other side it looks plain.
Here’s my inspiration board so far. Think I’ve got any winners yet? Have any other suggestions for a WOW updo?

@LastGirlStanding: What does your dress look like?

Voted blonde beehive/side pony!
The first picture of you in the purple dress; that’s my favourite of the updo pics!
FWIW, I recently had my hair styled like this for a wedding I was in, and it doesn’t look boring from the other side. I had the hair dresser cut some side-swept bangs, and brushed them to the opposite side of where the curled hair was – so curled side pony was on the left, bangs were swept to the right (opposite of hows yours are styled in the first pic).

Ooh beautiful dress! I definitely agree with side pony!

Without a doubt style # 1…love that one the best!

I can’t figure out which pictures go with your poll, but I love the updo with the flower! It’s look great without the flower, too, that’s just the best descriptor I have 🙂

wouldn’t worry about ‘topping’ your many great hair-do’s. You will look completely different anyways as you’re in a beautiful bridal gown! I really feel that this is topping it enough! I’m totally one of those girls who would never – if I were to get married in a wedding dress – keep it relatively simple and focus on enhancing my beauty in stead of just out doing myself: careful chosen colors for makeup (and enough of it), false lashes, great nails, classic hair with a great cut/color/do etc etc. I really like the up do with the flower and the blonde beehive half up half down. You totally pull off being both a brunette and a blonde btw, but the ashy blonde in that first pic is JUST amazing on you.

@LastGirlStanding: I think your previous updos are nicer than the inspiration pics! My fave is the bottom middle half updo. Although it’s a style you’ve worn before it will look totally different with bridal accessories.

@LastGirlStanding: Another vote for side pony, maybe halfway between the model at the bottom top left and you at the top top left? You have mid-length bangs, maybe you can pin some of them over a bit with a discreet sparkly pin?
BTW, I LOVE your dress color. It paired with the silver embellishments looks magical.

Thanks for the comments everyone!
I was leaning toward the blond beehive/side pony myself, so I’m glad to have the idea reinforced.
