Good morning! 🙂
We bought this house 5 years ago and, on a very tight budget,
I managed to get everything decorated. Now I’m going back over some of
the things that didn’t quite stand the test of time.
Sadly, the perfectly-colored, fit-right-outta-the-box, faux wood blinds from
Ikea are the next things on the chopping board.
They really are perfect looking, though:
I have some quality issues, as well, but my main problem is the view when you open them:
(Perfect shot of the neighorbors house)
And just so you can see what you’re lookin’ at a little better:
(They aren’t home right now, cuz then this photo would be 10 times creepier, but it gets pretty busy over here since this is their backyard, driveway, back porch and deck, and kitchen. We also have a crystal clear shot of their 2 upstairs bedrooms and their upper deck area)
I thought I really wanted those top down, bottom up cellular shades. So I ordered some samples from blindsgalore.com.
(I liked the dark brown. A shade darker than the cabinets. It’s called Espresso)
Do you think it will look weird to have one giant, brown, cellular window shade here?
I love the look of the wood blinds, but can’t find any that operate “top down”… which I think is what I need here to block the view of the neighbors, but still let in the light. (The blinds have pretty much stayed closed the last 5 years… how sad, right?)
Any one else have any cuter ideas for this window area? I thought about curtains, but do you think they would get wet being right above the sink? And weird because they’d have to be kinda short?
