My fiance and I went shopping today for his look for the wedding. We bought a navy 3 piece suit (coat, vest and pants). I need help deciding which way he could wear it. (Because he could care less 🙂 ).
Option 1: Vest and Pants only. (This is the look we love but it is less flattering on his “heavier” frame)
Option 2: Suit Coat and pants only (More flattering to him but not our vision)
I would so appreciate your feedback! 🙂

Well if you have all three could you do one for ceremony, one for reception?

My FH is heavier and he will be wearing something very similar to the second one but I gave my man 100% control over what he wore. He is going to be wearing it, so he should feel as comfortable as he can on his wedding day. Just my opinion. 🙂 ETA its funny that your guy could care less and mine was picky about fabrics, cuts, etc. etc.

I would never want to wear a wedding dress that wasnt as flattering as it could be. I wouldnt ask my groom either.

I would go with the more flattering option, since he may be more comfortable in it.

I didn’t vote because there’s no option for both coat AND vest?
That way he can take the jacket off later for some pics/reception/whatever if he wants and you still get the look you wanted while he may feel a little more comfortable than he would wearing just the vest.

Just like some brides opt for a more formal look for the ceremony and then a party look for the reception, your groom could too. I vote for the jacket for the ceremony and vest for the reception. Most of the pictures will be taken before and a jacket covers a lot of imperfections.
Ask me how I know! 😉

@dsmm: Well said- my thoughts exactly!

@dsmm: My hubby kinda did this. He wore a suit for the ceremony then switch out the jacket for a marino wool vest. He couldn’t find a 3 pc suit that fit as most were slim fit. He liked the outfit change and being more comfortable without the jacket for the reception. The vest was enough to make him stand out from the rest of the guests.
With all that said he did what he wanted. Good luck!
