My SO and I went to look at rings about two months ago. We found one I loved and was in our budget. Since then, I’ve tried to drop the engagement talk and not put any undo pressure on him. There were some financial things that needed to happen before he could buy the ring, but now they have been cleared up for a couple weeks.
There have been no clues from him about whether he has the ring, bought the ring yet or even plans to soon. We have already talked dates and agreed on a fall 2014 wedding, and I have gently let him know that we’ll need at least a year to plan. I was expecting the proposal in October, but I know that rings take a little while to set after you buy them, and I’m just worried that he’ll put it off.
I’m not in a rush to get engaged, but he doesn’t want a super long engagement and I’m feeling the pressure to start planning/booking before everything gets booked.
Basically, I’m in a bad waiting place right now. I need some reassurance that everything will be fine and we will have enough time to plan. I’ve been doing everything I can to make the waiting easier; working out, doing my own thing, working on projects. Help! Talk me down 🙁
