I would not remove either. I think a gap looks worse than a short tenure. I think they key is to have a short response ready and then let the interviewer move on. if you act like it’s a big deal or you’re worried about it, then it will stick out more.How about this?

I enjoyed my role at XYZ company. I had an opportunty to move to company 2 after less than I year, and I decided to make the move because I was excited about having greater responsibilities and growth opportunities. Unfortunately, there was a lack of leadership and team cohesion so I made the tough decision to move on.
