Depends how old your talking.

most songs remade recently are mostly just sampled from old songs not the whole song.

alot of remakes were done in the 70s from even older songs.

@MissFireFlower:  I’m confused. Why wouldn’t you just use the original songs? Just use songs you like, I’m not understanding the purpose of finding remakes of old songs. People are most likely just going to say the original is better, since it usually is.

I could possibly help if you explain what exactly you’re looking for and why, I’m just puzzled by your request.

Here are some I can think of, mostly slow, sorry.  The originals are so good, but these are pretty great remakes.

Imagine (original John Lennon) Jack Johnson
Your Song (original Elton John) Ellie Goulding
Landslide (original Fleetwood Mac) Dixie Chicks
The Way You Look Tonight (original Fred Astaire) Harry Connick, Jr
Over the Rainbow (original Judy Garland) Israel Kamkawiwoole
Crazy Love (original Van Morrison) Michael Buble
Wild Horses (original Rolling Stones) The Sundays
Sea of Love (original Phil Phillips) Cat Power

I love “Make you feel my love” by Dylan, redone by Adele.

The “Across the Universe” soundtrack is AMAZING – all Beatles songs redone by modern-day artists.  Soooo good.  “I’ve just seen a face” sung by one of the movie actors is one of my favorites, but all the songs are great.

@MissFireFlower:  Geez, no need to be snarky. I was genuinely curious. Is it a theme? Why not the original, etc.. Scuse me I guess.

I’d suggest going to YouTube, typing in the names of old songs with the word “cover” after them.  It’s an easy way to find lots of covers.  I’ve been doing it for some more danceable versions of some Disney songs and in the case of some modern artists where we like more than one song but don’t want things to get monotonous.

@MissFireFlower:

Ok, please please please don’t think I’m crazy for saying the bands name its pretty hard core heavy metal but the remake of Bad Company’s song Bad company is amazing.

Song title; Bad Company

Band: Five finger death punch (lol)

They did an awesome job, just look up on youtube and give it a listen you won’t hate it, I promise!
