Hello everyone! I’m new to this board as I’m newly engaged! 😀 My Fiance and I are planning a destination wedding down in the Keys next year. We are also planning on having a big old bar party for our 300+ friends that can’t come to FL with us. Since the main dinner and even will be held in Florida the party up here will be far more casual. We are planning on using a local bar/restaurant for a free beer/wine party with buffet style munchie appetizer food all night. The problem: It’s a horrible dark hunter green and brown wood.
As the majority of our budget is going to Florida we are looking for inexpensive ways to transform the space to be more stylish. Our wedding colors are aqua/teal, black and white so we are talking about trying to get the lighting in the bar a blue/aqua color. I’m thinking it will wash away the ugly colors and give the place a great vibe. So…how does one accomplish this!?
I’ve looked into a few different options…
1) We simply change out the light bulbs and put in blue bulbs.
2) We use blue paper lanterns and throwies or something else to light them. But is this enough light for a primary source?
3) Uplighting? How does this work?
Any other brilliant ideas for washing the room in a blue light? We plan on using lots of candles all throughout as well so there will be that for lighting as well. Thanks so much for any ideas in advance! I’m loving this board and look forward to more briliant ideas from you bees!
