So we moved a couple of months ago into our first home and it was nex construction so everything was pretty standard when we moved in as far as color palette. I bought this bedding:
And I am at a loss for what color to paint our walls! I don’t want anything dark. Right now this is what our room looks like. The walls are a dark sandy beige-ish (lol) color. The lamps will stay since there is black and white in the bedding, and I like contrasting prints. The furniture is changing.
ETA: The sheets are grey right now but I am thinking of changing them to the orange or a cream with grey trim.
Any suggestions for color on the walls?

Your link just reverts to the homepage 🙁
I really love the bedding on your bed though! If it’s the same… how about picking out the lime green in that and having an accent wall? Perhaps a paper in a bold print since you (and I) are loving the contrast. Here are some of my thoughts: (sorry these are huge)

I love the paper idea! Though the color isn’t lime green, it’s more of a mustard yellow. Here is a pic I saved from the site.
We have an upholstered headboard that is kind of a nudey-pinkish with grey buttons and the mustard yellow thread for contrast.
I am totally thinking a paper though!! Thanks for that suggestion!

Something like this maybe?

@TheJeanses2012: My bad, but I think I like the yellow more. But yes, I love the paper. It will make it really bright and summery I think, and who doesn’t like a bit of sunshine? 🙂 Just my thoughts anyway

Or even something in a floral?

I’d pick up something understated in the bed spread like a red or a nice grey and use that.

The red in the bed spread would be nice. If you don’t want to fully commit you could make behind the wall behind your bed red and the others tan or grey.

I would go for a cool blue colour. Blue looks amazing against grey and will really make the quilt pop. I was going to suggest a light pink… but then I noticed the red so that wouldn’t work so well. I think a cool blue with white trim will look great. I don’t know what your room is like… but in my house I would paint the skirting boards and wooden window frames an acrylic white, contrast it with the cool blue walls and then have the focus point as the bed/lamps.
Fiance and I bought our first home 4 weeks ago so I know how tricky re-decoratin can be 😛
Good luck xx

You could be daring an pull some of the orange colour and GO Bright!

I don’t know how bold you are with color, but you could do a very dark charcoal, almost black color, at least on the one wall. It would look great with your lamps and the bedding and headboard you described would really pop against it. I know a lot of people are afraid to go too dark. My experience has been that every room I have painted dark, I have loved as long as an equal dose of light is used in the room elsewhere (such as the bedding here). I have a dark bedroom and it is very dramatic, cozy and restful. If that is too dark for you, a lighter gray would be nice as well.

I’d go with a grey and dark charcoal brown like @namarie. I think they are neutral enough colors that it would make the brights in the bed pop but if you wanted to change in the future, you easily could.
I love it, good pick!

Instead of a paper, maybe you want to consider doing a stenciled wall? There are lots of fun examples and it is so much easier to reverse if you want to redecorate in a few years.

I would do a warm, medium grey with a nice piece of artwork over the bed.
See storm cloud grey

Ooh, wait, what about the mustard yellow walls? But I’m always one to go for bolder choices! 😛
