Still waiting on a pic . . .
But if you're open to the girls wearing different necklines, why don't you just let your BMs decide what they want to wear?
I think it depends on what looks best on your girls. Not everyone looks good in the Y neck dresses - they can make broad shouldered women seem even more broad. I think you could give each girl the option and let them choose what looks best on them!
I like the idea of breaking it up a bit. I will have 5 girls including MOH and have 3 girls in one dress and 2 girls in the other. Depending on bust size, strapless can be difficult for some girls so the Y might be a nice alternative for them and if there is more than one in it, there is no weird isolation.
I am actually doing the same thing, but with Pewter. I let my 6 girls choose whatever dress they wanted in that color and they all chose the same fabric. I have 3 girls wearing the Y-neck, 2 wearing the strapless, and my MOH is wearing a different strapless.
I say let them pick whichever flatters the individual girl the best.
I like the idea of doing non-matching designs, but I'd leave it to your girls maybe to choose which dress they prefer? Some might feel more comfortable in one or the other, but it might be tricky if you want two of each.

So, I am trying to finalize a bridesmaid dress decision. I can't decide if I want my girls to wear all 4 of the same Y-neck cotton sateen dress. Or two wear the Y-neck and 2 wear the strapless. I like the 2 and 2 because it breaks up the monotony of having 4 identical dressed girls. I would love to do four different...but there aren't 4 different dresses in that material that I like. At least not at Davids.
So help please? Oh, and you don't have to make fun of my silly pictures. It's the best I can do with Davids little tool :)
