Something that helped me was asking our photographer for estimates on picture taking time, give them how many in your party and how many locations you have in mind, they’ll give you an estimate on how long that will take. Also, our reception hall gave us some ideas on times, set up, decor, serving times, etc. really though, it’s up to you and how you can get everyone involved coordinated and on time 🙂    there are lots of threads on here for that-so do some searching, and you’ll get lots of help. Also, whether you are having the reception  during the day or evening will be a factor and whether it’s a weekday vs weekend. I have found lots of helpful hints on here by doing a search on time line or timeline schedule, etc. good luck.

Are you doing a cocktail hour or something between ceremony and reception?

Do you want dinner to start at 4?

Do you plan to take any bridal pics before the ceremony (after 1st look) or will they all be after?  I would dedicate around 2 hours for pictures (depending on how many you really want) and you can either break that time up before & after the ceremony or all after.

Do you want guests to go straight from church to the reception hall/cocktail hour or do you think you’ll need to have a gap b/c of pics?

Well with what you have posted I’d look at something like this:

Morning: bride/groom/wedding party get ready

1:00 light lunch or snack

2:00 first look with pictures

3:00ceremony Starts (I’m assuming a 15-30 minute ceremony)

3:30 Ceremony ends and guests head to reception site/ wedding party head to photo location

4:00 Bride/groom and wedding party take pictures

4:00 guest arrive at venue for cocktail hour (I’d offer at least drinks, preferably drinks and something light to eat like cheese/fruit/crackers)

5:00 bride and groom arrive at reception and buffet opens

(I’d allow 45 minutes-1 hr for all your guests to get food if you’re having two lines)

6:30(ish) all guests have food- bride and groom cut the cake, any toasts are given

7:00 Bride and groom do first dance and the dance floor is now open

10:00/10:30 DJ finishes up, guests head out, clean up starts

Some things I wasn’t sure of when making up this –

Who is setting up your ceremony and reception sites?  Do you need to allow time to take care of set up and still get to the ceremony on time.

How long is your ceremony?  I went with a 30 minute ceremony but yours could be shorter/longer

Where are you getting ready/how long will it take you to get to the ceremony site

Hope this helps some!
