    Hi again bees!

I've been struggling with what wedding dress to commit to so I can sell the others I've purchased at sample sales and etc so I asked what dress over here (http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/accessorize-priscilla-of-boston-platinum-pl396-gown-or-go-back-to-mikaella-1406?replies=26#post-3103985)

but decided the model photos are not very telling of what the dresses are like ON ME so here's another poll with only the TWO options reflective of my own body in these dresses.

    Here's the Mikaella 1406:

HELP! Mermaid Dress Dilemma! SUPER PIC HEAVY! Mikaella 1406 or PoB PL 396 : wedding priscilla of boston pl 396 mikaella 1406 1 sash bolero mermaid belt bling accessories help M1406front

HELP! Mermaid Dress Dilemma! SUPER PIC HEAVY! Mikaella 1406 or PoB PL 396 : wedding priscilla of boston pl 396 mikaella 1406 1 sash bolero mermaid belt bling accessories help M1406SIDE

Mikaella also came with a Bolero:

HELP! Mermaid Dress Dilemma! SUPER PIC HEAVY! Mikaella 1406 or PoB PL 396 : wedding priscilla of boston pl 396 mikaella 1406 1 sash bolero mermaid belt bling accessories help M1406Bolero

I thougth about putting a crystal belt with it too:

HELP! Mermaid Dress Dilemma! SUPER PIC HEAVY! Mikaella 1406 or PoB PL 396 : wedding priscilla of boston pl 396 mikaella 1406 1 sash bolero mermaid belt bling accessories help M1406highbelt

HELP! Mermaid Dress Dilemma! SUPER PIC HEAVY! Mikaella 1406 or PoB PL 396 : wedding priscilla of boston pl 396 mikaella 1406 1 sash bolero mermaid belt bling accessories help M1406BACKbelt

But then I found this Priscilla of Boston. The dress is silk satin, fit to flare wedding dress with a full skirt and sweeping train. The front of the dress has a sweetheart neckline. The back of the dress has Czech crystal buttons covering the zipper and continuing down to the hem. There are also 2 bows on the back of the dress.

It originally had this crazy beaded bolero but I bought it separate and got a fantastic deal for it being w/o its jazzy bolero.

Its a size smaller thank the Mikaella so it fits tighter and I think I'd definitely have to lose 15-20lbs to make it fit more comfortably but my wedding isn't until September so I'm not afraid of that.

    Here it is:

HELP! Mermaid Dress Dilemma! SUPER PIC HEAVY! Mikaella 1406 or PoB PL 396 : wedding priscilla of boston pl 396 mikaella 1406 1 sash bolero mermaid belt bling accessories help PL396Front

I know i would definitely add a sparkly belt to add some front interest so here's an example with a rhinestone belt I already had:

I would either change the ribbon to match or just sew the belt directly onto the dress:

So what do you guys really think?

My wedding will be an elegant sunset wedding and night reception aboard this yacht:

Thank you to the ladies who have been lovely and gave me their input on the other poll too!

Any suggestions on other accessories or what not would be awesome.

Thank you Thank you Thank you bees!

They're both beautiful, but the first one, especially with the belt, is amazing on you.

Definitely go with the Priscilla of Boston!! Both dresses look lovely on you but I think the second dress with the sparkley belt (I would sew it on) is so much more elegant and sophisticated. Gorgeous - I love it!

I like the first one minus the bolero, it hits you in a weird place. You would look fab in either though, good luck! :)

I agree with @CarolinaCola! I think both of them look great but the Mikaella without bolero and just with the shiny belt looks awesome on you!!!!

If you can't decide, just wear both! :D Start with the one you got at priscilla of boston, then change into the Mikaella dress.

I don't think you need a bolero at ALL. You look great without it!

The first one shows your shape more (you should definitely wear the belt). This looks a bit like the Adorae. You look great in this!

The 2nd dress is also pretty, in a simple way but to make it really beautiful, you will have to lose some weight as it doesn't fit quite right. It's a bit too plain without the belt but yet, wearing the belt draws attention to your tummy.

My pick: If you tone up, I think the 2nd dress could really be fantastic! If you are happy the way you are, then Dress #1

Number 2 for sure. Number one does not show off your figure nearly as nicely because of all the ruches everywhere. 2 is glamorous and impactful.

Ok i have to comment bcuz i see its a very close vote! I voted for mikaella!!

Mikaella compliments ur body shape much more the the PoB... your side pic makes you look thin! but in the PoB it puts a lot of focus on ur tummy and thighs.... I wasnt too much of a fan of that one... I feel like u would be able to move around and dance around in the Mik, whereas the PoB looks very constricting... and the belt looks lovely on the Mik!! A Must! Hope this helps!!!  cant wait to hear what u chose!

As a general rule I hate ruching. I think the second dress makes you look like a BOMBSHELL. It's amazing. #2, no doubt.

You look great in both, but I voted for #2 because it fits your description of what you want (elegant).  Also, from what you posted, it sounds like you prefer #2.

I like the priscilla of boston with a flower diamente belt. It's simple but stunning to look at. Material looks rich. I think there is too much ruching with #1 don't know where to look when I look at that dress. Too much going on.

110% dress #2 - it is so elegant and beautiful! And I don't think you need to lose 15-20 pounds to wear it at all! Even if you lost a few pounds (around 5 pounds maybe) I think the dress would fit you perfectly. You are a tiny girl and so even losing a few pounds would make a big difference.

Both are STUNNING on you! However.... I know rouching makes people feel more comfortable and hides things but you don't need to hide anything and can totally pull off a fitted gown w/o rouching.  #2 is more elegant and I feel rouching makes things look kindof rough and will go out of style.  I would change your beaded sash with a beaded sash that has more beaded in the center, then slims down to the sides- it makes the waist look better.  Good luck!

oh gosh this is so tough!

You all make so much sense! Thank you for all the ego-boosting as well Kiss

Sheesh, maybe I should keep them both... or have the Mikaella shortened at the flower to wear to the reception?

but the thing is, I sort of need to figure it out because the Mikaella is a 10 and the PoB is an 8 so if I slim to make the PoB fit better the Mikaella would be too big and I'd have to spend more $$$ to get it altered to stay up (I'm not the bustiest of brides so I wouldn't be able to hold it up :S lol)

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this is so hard! Yell

This is tough! While #1 fits a little better right now and has more to it - I don't love the dress all that much. But that's just personal preference. It definitely looks great on you, so if you love - go with that. But toss that bolero....no beuno. Throw it off the yacht, if you must!

#2, although very simple, definitely looks more elegant without the trendy rouching thing happening. You would def need to wear a belt, and you could even do a super fabulous chunky statement necklace. Very modelesque! You are gorgeous and will look amazing in either. And you def don't need to lose 15-20 lbs! As another bee said, you could prob just lose 5 or so and tone up and #2 would be amazeballs on you :)

@tanbarr:  lol Yeah the bolero doesn't seem to win people over like the ruching~ my dad said it makes me look like I'm trying to be an asian bride lol bless him...

Thank you for your kind words about my frame~ I've always had the ambition to be smaller (possibly a California girl complex lol) but toning up and dropping a few LBs to be elegant and "modelesque" would be a dream come true so I think I'm leaning more and more to the PoB...

Those poll results are definitely making me wonder tho! Embarassed

Go with your heart, girl! But if you want to know my opinion, I voted for #2. I think if you lost only 5 pounds it would fit you perfectly! The Mikaella is gorg but looks younger to me, whereas #2 has an elegant feel that fits with your venue. I actually prefer it without the belt, or maybe I would like the belt if you placed it higher at the empire waist? Plus the buttoned train is to die for. (And this is coming from someone who loves ruching and pleating, having it on my own gown!)

But in the end, seriously, go with the one that gives YOU the best feeling. Close your eyes and picture yourself walking down the aisle--which one are you wearing?!

I went to a wedding on that exact same yatch in Newport and the bride wore the exact some Mikaella gown you have here.  So weird!

I think the POB one is just too plain. Go with the Mikaella.

I love number 1 with the blingy belt, and without the bolero. I think the bolero chops off your top half too much. 1 is  far more flattering than 2 - that is my honest opinion!

I know...its hard to know what to do when the poll says one thing and your gut says another. All great input from the Bees. In the end, you have to love it! Just take it all in and try to picture yourself on that day. What over all look are you trying to go for?

@basia:  I love the back too! Ive never seen crystal buttons all the way down and I think that makes it look soooo much nicer but the Mikaella shapes my body better

I think I should probably keep both, diet & exercize for a month or two and do this poll again when I'm a little lighter and a little more toned.  I LOVE the PoB but I agree it highlights some trouble spots so I wouldn't want to look icky on my wedding day so if I was getting married tomorrow, I'd wear the Mikaella~ thank you all for your encouragement!

@tanbarr:  I think honestly the Mikaella looks more flattering but I think is a little less high end fabulous and I'd really love to be "red carpet glamorous" on my day but if I look uncomfortable or chunky in the PoB dress because its a size 8 (instead of the Mikaella which is a 10), its not the one... yet!

I also need to find the right belt and the right other accessories and I was also thinking about a blingy silver brooch bouquet like this to bring more WOW factor to my ensemble:

HELP! Mermaid Dress Dilemma! SUPER PIC HEAVY! Mikaella 1406 or PoB PL 396 : wedding priscilla of boston pl 396 mikaella 1406 1 sash bolero mermaid belt bling accessories help Silver Brooch Bouquet

So yes, I think I agree with the majority here saying the Mikaella looks better on me BUT I love the minority's encouragement to go after the lush PoB because that is the dress my heart desires... I think I also want it because I'm sort of one for refinement and a "Less is more" approach... definitely don't want a dress to OUTSHINE me.

Also would like to be a bit original and the Mikaella seems to be everywhere! lol esp when @Meowkers: knows someone who got married on the same yacht in the SAME dress... I'm sure she was gorgeous but that makes me feel less special just thinking about it! Embarassed BUT if I look the best in the Mikaella, that should be the one!

So I'mma go to work on my shape for a few months and see how it all improves and probably have this poll again... wish me luck! Either way you've all been wonderful!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR INPUT! You have helped me think about so many new things involving the whole dress THING and its been invaluable to my decision making Kiss

I'm so happy to get honest, helpful opinions from girls who have been there too Laughing

....now where's the "buff bride" diet & exercise board? Wink

hehe..you're funny! Hit those godawful stairs at the gym and trust me....only a few lbs would do the trick. All else fails...you can do a cleanse. I know its a bit controversial and some on here might jump all over me for suggesting this....but I've done the master cleanse a few times and it does the trick! Hit the gym first and eat right. That's always the best approach.  I love the blinged out bouquet too. Gorgeous.  BUT...if you love flowers, I think a statement necklace, fabulous belt would do it too.

Keep us posted! Would love to see pics again in a few months. Good luck!!
