It maybe possible but you should see how long it would take to have it let out and then decide. The alterations appt may take weeks to get done and if you cant lose the weight super fast, you may not have a place to get it altered at and get your dress back ontime for the wedding. Yikes sorry this has happened. I am fearful the same is going to happen to me too.
@Moose1209: it's corset back but the inside panel doesnt reach across by like 3 inches!!!!!!!!!!!.....well thats me guessing.
If worse comes to worst... could they just add a wider panel inside and the corset will be a bit more open!!??! I dont know. Im scared.
If they can do that - does anyone know roughly how much that costs?
I'm sorry you're in this situation! I would talk to a doctor or nutritionist. There are very specific formulas for calculating calorie deficit per day and amount of weight lost per week. A professional could give you very straight up answers and help you establish a diet/workout regiment that could help you lose whatever weight possible.
UGH, so sorry to hear that!
How many pounds do you think you have to lose? I've dropped 10 pounds in a month by following a strict low carb diet and running. I generally do this 1-2 months before beach vacations to get "bikini ready".
Works for me, but everyone's different. I wish you the best of luck.
Losing three inches around your midsection in 7 weeks sounds a little extreme. I would think it would be VERY reasonably priced to have a seamstress make a larger privacy panel. It's just a very small piece of fabric being sewn into the dress. I think doing that is your best bet. Have you double checked to make sure the shop ordered the correct size? 3 inches sounds really far off.
ugh i'm in a similar situation! it sucks! mine the corset is stetched to the max and the panel in the back doesn't cover everything. I'm just eating vegtables and meat (mostly chicken) and getting back onto my workouts. I've definatly been slacking since i got it, been enjoying the engagement. If you set your mind to it, you can do it!!
drinks lot of water! that helps a lot too!
Girls - this is my worst nightmare! I have my first fitting tomorrow and think I'll struggle so I feel your pain!
I don't think it would be too expensive... My trainer says to guarentee a 2lb a week loss you should use the "500" rule. Either eat 500 calories less, burn 500 cals mre through exercise, or burn 250 and eat 250 less.
It's working for me! Good luck x
How comfortable are you without having the panel there? I have seen girls without them and it doesnt look bad since the tie covers most of the skin. My dress is too small too, well my first one is. And that's what i was going to do (My dress was a size 14), so I'm not a super skinny person trying to tell you this :P Try the garbage bag trick, or the make the sauna suits...Walmart carries them. (I have one!!) They work really well for helping you lose water weight. Good luck girl!
How physically active are you? If you do not currently have an intensive workout routine, I would suggest trying out the 30 Day Shred (Jillian Micheals, 10 bucks at Target). Do it everyday and keep a record of all the foods you eat in a notebook. Cut out processed sugar and sweets entirly for the next few weeks.
If you already have a strict diet and workout routine...I might suggest trying The Master Cleanse. I know it is contraversial, but it is an interesting experince. It is very extreme, because it is a fasting process. I tried it last fall and went 7 days on it. I did it to explore my relationship with food and expereince a fast. You will loose a lot of weight very quickly, but it will come back within a few months. It might be a way to drop the weight you need right before the wedding. Talk to your doctor first though!
I second @Rosiebear - I lost a lot of inches doing the 30 day shred, and actually just started it up again yesterday (and am SORE today!) to tone up a bit more before my fitting (my wedding is in 36 days).

I finally got my dress the other day and it doesnt fit!!! I was measured in January. I knew I gained a little weight but not this much!! The back doesnt even reach to do up!! My wedding is in 7 weeks..... aside from letting it out through alterations, do you think its possible to fit in it with strict diet and excersize!?!?
