(I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow but right now I am just so worried that I decided to just ask about this here on the bee….)
In the last 3 weeks I have started to loose a lot of hair…
Way more than normal.
My hair is getting thinner and thinner.
ANY idea what could cause sudden hair loss?
I am terrified!!

It could be a deficience, it could be autoimmune, it could be stress, something else I haven’t thought of or a combination of factors.

Do you have any other symptoms? If not then it is probably stress. How much is a lot? Because you would be suprised at how much hair the average human loses per day.
Other reasons non medical can be chemicals- have you changed shampoo/conditioner or other hair products? Have you had a perm, highlights, dye job?
Rough handling can also cause hair loss- for example being stressed and running your hands through your hair alot.
Medical reasons can be hormonal, hereditary, alopecia, ringworm (of the scalp) and medications.
And sometimes there is no cause at all. Just wait and see what the doctor says and if you think it might be stress related try some yoga or some other stress release.

Like PP said, there are lots of possibilities. If you have any other symptoms, ask about testing your thyroid. I was losing a LOT of hair before I started treatment for hypothyroidism.

My doc thinks it’s my thyroid. Possibly Hashimoto’s disease.
Will have lab work done.
