@MsBark:  Gaining 5 lbs shouldn’t cause you to go up that much in inches! Either they measured you wrong or ordered the wrong size, or possibly both! I’m so sorry this happened to you! 🙁

Ask to see the dress again and measure it. It is the only way to be sure if they ordered it too small.

Something sounds really off. You should not have up that much in inches from 5 1bs. What’s your normal street size and have you noticed street clothes being tighter?

I’m about your weight, but I can never fit into dress size 2 (my pants size is 0), I always have to go with size 4 when comes to dresses. So yea, I think they ordered wrong. BTW, 5lbs does nothing.

i have been about that waist and hip measurement, snd I think I could squeeze into a 4 street then, thiugh that would be hard, and could never come close to fitting 2 bridal. I don’t think 25/38 is close to 2 bridal.

@MsBark:  Take a tape measure with you and ask to try your dress on again. Whern you are in the change room alone measure the dress. It wont be 100% accurate but it will show if they ordered the dress smaller than they should have.

@Saria213:  +1

something is definitely off as the PP’s have stated. Ahh i hate to saythis, but try to lose 5 lbs and see what happens? idk i just cant think of an alternative or is it possible to take the dress as is and find an alternative reputable seamstress who will let it out for cheaper.

The whole thing sounds very suspicious. Did they not tell you the style name or number of the dress and the designer when you bought it? Did they have you fill out a contract when you paid? If so, what does your copy say?

It sounds very strange that the dress has a designer label on it that you didn’t expect. Does the dress look brand new? Are there any signs that it’s been tried on before?

When I ordered all of the dresses for my wedding they had two people measure everyone to check the measurements were correct. Then they looked on a size chart and ordered a dress that would fit the largest measurement, which was hips for all of us.

I am very very suprised they are saying they can let the dress out so easily. Normally this is the dread of all alterations people because there is just not that much spare fabric in the dress to make it bigger. It all just sounds a bit off.

Best of luck getting all this sorted out!

Honestly, most women fluctuate around 5 pounds throughout the month with water weight/periods/etc… I’m around the same size as you, 5’2 32-25-37, 110lbs, and throughout the month I’ll go as high as 116 and as low as 105, but I never lose inches. With all the wedding stress, I actually dropped to right around 100 right before the wedding and my dress still fit just fine.

I seriously think they measured you wrong AND ordered the wrong size as a result. Did you buy an Allure? Because my dress was an Allure and even after them ordering a 4 I still had to have it taken in significantly in the bust.
