    Tell me about it! Embarassed

I know I should give up BUT that mean that this crook of a salon owner won, and I just can't accept defeat yet...

    I'll check Lazaro now, thanks!

I want so badly to help you find this dress just so that evil bridal shop doesn't win :(  So far, no luck.  Have you tried emailing other bridal shops that aren't even in your area?  This may be a stretch, but maybe a big store like Klienfelds would know who makes that dress or at least tell you if they have it (or maybe I am just dreaming that they would be so nice lol).

Anniephd - Thank you so much for the link.   Wink

It's not the dress but its a great option!

Blueshoes - I actually contacted Kleinfeld and they found out for me that the dress was not a 2Be and that I was being lied to.  They were fast and VERY nice when they really didn't have to help me at all.  They didn't know who made the dress either. Great suggestion!  Laughing

I looked at a ton of sites for you (I used The Knot mag with all the designers in it for reference) and could not find it. I am begining to think the PP who said it may be from China is right.

Arizonabride - Me too!  I started looking at the chinese sites listed through the Bridal Bargins book already.  That would make total sense why the salon lied, they would never want to reveal the HUGE mark up!

I would suggest going to different designers websites and check to see if they sell dresses at that store. If you can find which designers sell there, it will narrow your search.

So one of my friends send the salon owner an e-mail with the picture asking her for the designer's info and this is what the salon owner wrote back.  KEEP IN MIND that I have been looking at the dress since August and it was on a display in a huge local mall....

    She replied and said:

I no longer have the dress information you have asked for.

I will look into those styles for you. Please send me your address and I will try to concentrate on designers who are represented in your area.

There's my proof! I'm sorry but what salon owner can't recall the information on a dress she has had and shown for the past year, unless she has been giving false info!

    What do you think?

Hi..another Bee posted a thread showing a dress that looked just like yours..her screenname is NicLoop. Here is the link:

In that thread (mentioned just above) Crebre mentions a Jim Hjelm dress that looks very similar - is it possible that the mystery dress is a Jim Hjelm?

Either way, hope one of these legit dresses works out for you!

What's the price-point? That might help narrow down designers.

Find a fabulous bridal shop in your area and continue to look at other dresses.  I am one of those people that believe that everything happens for a reason.  If you are meant to have this dress, you will figure out the designer.  HELLO, you have thousands of bees searching for you.  Maybe if none of us can find it, it is just not meant to be and your dream dress is still out there.  Smile  My fingers are crossed for you, one way or another.

Elliemae - Thanks for finding me!  I saw it! Smile

Daydreamwanderer - I'll re-check Jim again!  Thanks for the suggestion and the link to that dress!  So close, great beading on the bodice.

Zippylef - The price point form the salon was $1585.  WIll that help?

Miss.Skinner - I appreciate your wise words.  I know I should move on but its become my mission to find it.  I promise to move on soon.  Laughing

    Nicole,

WOW... I have no idea how you managed to figure out its one of our dresses.

Yes that is one of our retailer exclusive designs. We do not advertise these
gowns as our own because technically we sell the rights to the retailer.

But yes, that is one of our designs, and its actually pretty limited to a few
    retailers per state/region.

Let me know if you'd like any further information about the dress, but bear in
mind our retailer exclusive program of offering designs to retailers without
claiming it for our own line/label. A true "private label" despite or company
    name.

    Sincerely,
    -Ken Yeh

THANK YOU HIVE!!!!!  I love you girls!  I finally feel free now that I know I wasn't going crazy - I was offically lied to!!!!  Don't let this ever happen to you!  If they cut out the tags RUN!

Thanks again!  I wrote him back and hopefully I can find a store that is authorized to sell it to me!

    I'm sooooo happy!

    Love,

    Nic

So I checked on yelp to see if the bridal salon you speak of was the one I suspected it was.  Turns out it is!  I had the same crazy experience with them too.  Annnnnnnnnd i found a dress I loved there, but couldn't justify giving them my $ when they could not be upfront with me and just kind of beat around the bush with all the dress details.  I'm not a member on yelp, but experiences like this make me consider joining.

ps - happy you figured out your mystery dress!  If you need a recommendation of a couple wonderful bridal salons in the area, pm me!

Mandy - PLEASSSSSSE consider taking a moment to joining YELP so your experience can be shared.  I know you wouldn't want other brides going through what we went through.

Also, you can cut and paste your experience on the google review as well.  If you google the store, they have a review system as well.  It could save someone alot of time and frustration.

I did both sites and it only took 5 minutes.

Did you ever find another dress?  What was your experience?

I did find another dress....2 in fact!  It was hard to choose between them b/c I loved them both.  I went to a total of 8 bridal salons in the area and there were 2 that were just wonderful, some were ok and 2 were just outright ridiculous!  I think I will join yelp and eventually review all of them.

BTW - I checkout out BBB for the bridal salon we both loathe, and their rating is an F.  Surprised? Wink

Ellie - thanks for the link!  It was beautiful!

Kelly - It turned out to be a Private Label by G Limted Version.  Problem was the salon lied about who made it AND it has been discontinued since Feb 2009, whereas the salon had it on display since last month...

Holy crap!  I just saw your article about this in the Times Union!  Good job!

Alnd what BS: "Spinelli said all the original tags remain on the bridal gowns at her shop, along with a store label that is added to some lines exclusive to the Bridal Gallery."

That could not be more untrue.  Every single gown I looked at there had the original tag ripped out and the store tag sewn in.  Hopefully this article gets some deserved attention. :]

    Mandy,

Thank you so much for letting me know you read it!  It was very hard for me to do and I appreciate you sharing your story, making me not feel alone!

Would you please consider putting your comment on the story at this link: http://blog.timesunion.com/advocate/category/other/

I think their are others like us and it would really help support my claim.

    Thank you again!
