So my BIL makes jewelry in his off-time, and he offered to make me a necklace for the wedding. I found this out just recently, but he has been working on it for a while. The problem is, the necklace I found a week or so ago my FI bought for me as a wedding present. Now I don't know what to do. I feel like I'll hurt my BIL's feelings if I don't wear his necklace, but I LOVE the necklace FI bought me and it's a wedding present to me so I can't not wear it. Help! What should I do?

Well obviously FI's gift wins!

But perhaps you could wear the BIL one for your rehearsal? or brunch afterwards?

I'm sure he'll understand. I doubt he'll really think you should wear his over FI's wedding gift to you! - You could thank BIL, explain that FI SURPRISED you with a necklace that you'll be wearing and that you'd be honorned to wear his creation at the rehearsal.

I think you just need to find another event to wear the BIL necklace. and hello, its an accessory, he should have talked to you more in depth before starting it and commiting you to wearing that on the wedding day.

Excellent ideas! Sometimes in the middle of a crisis (haha) your mind stops functioning, so it's really awesome to have a board to turn to for advice. I will definitely suggest wearing it at the rehearsal! Thanks ladies!
